The 14-Way Divider Club Layout Dilemma

Recommended Posts

I primarily walk by carrying or pushcart, but sometimes ride on occasion. I've got a bit of OCD and I hate having to rearrange my clubs based on if I'm riding or walking. I prefer 14 way dividers because I don't like shaft tangle. After messing around with different club layouts, I think I found my go-to layout moving forward that works regardless of walking or riding by taking the concept of the original Ogio Woode layout. This layout is generally organized by club length, allows my most used clubs to be easily accessible, and also avoids the common scenario of pulling an iron and hitting the crown of a driver/wood. I figured I'd share for those in similar situations looking for the ideal setup.

@TheBiles Interesting, I think I avoided that issue because I keep my headcovers on the entire time but I can see the irons swinging and hitting the shafts when your walking. I never liked the woods on top because I feel like I’m reaching over them to grab the irons.

This is why I can't stand 14 way bags.  It's so much easier to organize a 4 way bag, and Sun Mtn has an equivalent 4 way that is so roomy that there is no tangle.  Plus it's lighter.

@Mudguard They probably do but I actually don’t mind bag chatter. Unfortunately I use my wedges more often than I’d like to around the green so the ease of just pulling my putter and wedge from the top slot is out of convenience and access since my 4-5 irons are maybe hit 3-4 times a round.

@brew4eagle I’ve got an old backup bag that’s a 4 way Ping Hoofer and thought it was fine until I switched over to a 14 way and it was like night and day for my OCD lol. I had the woods and Putter up top, mid-long irons across the middle two slots, short irons and wedges bottom slot.

I guess we have different types of OCD, hahaha.  I find the 14 way to just not organize well at all (and no way I would organize it how you are, no offense!), so my OCD had me constantly fiddling with it.  It couldn't be perfected in my opinion, therefore it had to go.

best pushcart setup for this TEE 14-way bag.

opening has 4-4-4 with 2 across the back.

we walk 99% of the time, so if riding - move the longest clubs to the back slots and the short wedges up front.

Cally FT hybrids
Hogan Edge GS, 4-PW
Vokey Oil Can 52, 56

Just here to tell you that I love the putter headcover. I have a similar one. Bethpage are my home courses. Heading out to play the red this morning.

@darkman8 Funny enough I think I actually took this photo waiting on the tee box at the 12th on Red. Bethpage is my home course as well but I don’t play it that often anymore since I’m strapped for time. I can’t do the 5 hour rounds and early tee times are impossible to get through the system now. Spend most of my rounds getting out in the first couple groups at Eisenhower and finishing up in under 4 hours.
