Love the upright wedge for those chips off the fringe or skirt.

Higher hands at address is something I need to check.

A former LPGA player took me under her short game wing last winter.  Much to the improvement of my score.  And yes, upright club and green side is great.  For the longest time I wanted to always lob the ball to the hole on a chip.  Now she has me using 9 iron, PW or other when appropriate and to hit with a putting stroke to get the ball on the ground and rolling as soon as possible.  Amazing improvement in distance control and proximity to the cup.

If you need a grinder to make your weld look good, you are a grinder not a welder.

No I don’t know him personally but am friends with Titleist CEO in Canada …. and got to spend time with both him, and Bob Vokey, at the PGA show a few years back

It was great to have Scotty watch me putt a little and pitch head and neck advise and lie angles for me

both guys are super.   Vokey and I were emailing earlier this year about what grind currently best mimics my beloved SM2 64.07’s

Careful card, only a CEO can drop names like that.

Playing golf 40 years now and have learned a lot the last few months, playing scratch golf, lots of fairways and greens

the changes ….

SWING

1.  Claw / pencil / saw putting works way better using the web of my right hand (ie Fleetwood)

2.  External RS rotation is huge on downswing or as Bradley Hughes told me on Twitter… clockwise rotation of right forearm

3.  Higher hands at address.  For me it feels Bryson like but it’s normal (lesson from a former Nationwide pro)

4.  Upright the club greenside for Chips and pitches …. I was a diehard low hands guy for years.  My goodness I am catching everything so crisply and distance control is much improved

CLUBS

1.  Old drivers and fairways are gooooood

2.  When Scotty Cameron watches you putt and says stay Flow Neck lifetime … you should have listened sooner

enjoy the leaves, hope some of this helps someone

OK Uncle Cardy lets see

#1 works well for me now been claw gripping going on 3 years now

#4 Been doing that for many years learned that at a young age from none other than Raymond Floyd he was a friend of my old man

On the clubs I agree on #1

#2 If Scotty saw my Santa Fe he would cringe but when he saw how many putts I made with the rusty lead taped old thing he would relax and say carry on

I was wondering if you got higher hands by standing more upright at address or not.  And on chips and pitches have you got closer to the ball as you got higher hands?

Great post indeed.

Ball striking Round of the season yesterday … it was about 6*C, no roll due to loads of rain and 40kmh winds from the North …. Brrrrr

closing Captain’s Cup matches

38-35 for a 73 with 14 greens hit, from 6600 yards.  Played like 7000.  Hit all 9 greens on the back. 73.8/138

this was with a water ball and double bogey on 9 … 7i from 137 (normally my 175 club) splashed short

anyways, the point is the new stuff is still working … outlier but tells me I’m on the right track

It's only an outlier if you believe you can't do this consistently.

I played a quick nine today.  Went for #3 and #4 and I went back to hitting the ball rock solid. My buddy spent the round telling me “you’re stopping your backswing like never before” lol.  Thanks @cardoustie, it has helped a lot.

No I mean the outlier is the swing tips are actually working … repeatedly over a longer period

Ian Poulter almost hit my daughter in the foot with his shot at number 5 at the '16 Masters Par Three.  Okay, it would be a better story if he'd actually perceived he almost hit someone and engaged in personal contact (or I suppose actually hit her) -- he just breezed on by, lol!  So I guess this really isn't up there with Cleveland or Cameron. 😕

L.A.B. Golf is choosing ten GolfWRX members to receive their MEZZ.1 putter early and put their brand new product to the test before reporting back to the community about what they see. The selected testers will be one of the first to experience the MEZZ.1 from L.A.B. About The L.A.B. Golf Mezz.1 Putter
MEZZ.1 is our new mid-mallet putter that’s fully CNC machined from a billet of 6061 aircraft aluminum (body) and 303 stainless steel (midsection) to create our best-feeling — and we think best looking — putter to date. It includes 10 weights (eight on the bottom, two on the sides) that allow us to individually build each putter to a golfer’s exact specifications.

      How To Apply
In a post below, answer the following questions.

      1. City, State?
      2. Handicap?
      3. What is your current putter?
      4. Have you ever used a L.A.B. Golf putter?
      5. Why do you want to review the MEAZZ.1 putter?
      6. Do you agree to participate in an ongoing testing thread, posting reviews and photos?

That's it! @labgolf and GolfWRX will choose the testers in about 2 weeks! This testing event is for good-standing members in the USA only!
