I just got done banging on both the 17 & 21, have a set of each, Trono 75S vs RDX80S.  The Trono isn't for me, I don't think I have the Swing Speed for it.  For me, I would say it spins about 300 RPM less on good strike vs the RDX.  For example, 17 degree degree of each, I'm swinging about 98-100 mph, quick swing, hard transition.  I get aboout 15 degrees of launch with the RDX, and 3500 RPM spin vs Trono, 17 degrees launch 3200 spin.  I don't feel like I'm loading the Trono.  It's really a feel preference for me, like the RDX better.  Truth be told, I don't really care a ton for either shaft.  The Tronos are already up for sale, and I'll be reshafting the RDX with something that is a little tighter feeling.  I will say, you can catch some absolute low spinning missiles off a tee with the 17.  I caught one incredibly flush with the RDX, 15 degrees launch, 1800 RPM spin that went 264

Damn sounds like it’s going to be too much shaft for me then. I’m about 100-105 driver SS…I got the 21* coming and if they tip trimmed it I’m in biiiiggg trouble lol

I’m not nearly as long as most of you but had a Trono stiff shaft in a 3 wood and it felt incredibly smooth and produced really good results for me. I decided to try the UW in a 17* with the Trono and like a few others have stated, the club felt super heavy. Just felt really stout. I got better results with the stock RDX. I will say that my two best hits distance wise came with the Trono but overall the rdx was a better fit for me.

Is it listed for sale here in the BST?

Mine was standard length and I have a 5G weight so I think they are paying attention, and they went to the lightest weight possible (2g) on yours, they just couldn’t offset the extra half inch for SW purposes

I will have to check mine. But if that is the case, I am interested in putting 2g weight. Thank you for the info!

I’m a little worried about the trono x flex - impulse purchase based on my iron shafts being an x flex that apparently play stiff to flex. Ordered last Thursday, still no shipping notice - hopefully I can return it for an s flex or different shaft option if it turns out to be as stiff as folks say. Kicking myself for not pulling the trigger when the ventus was no upcharge (had it in the cart, but didn’t do it),

You will eventually figure out. However, I hit a sponge ball on carpet and I am sure I can handle this shaft well (my ss is 105 and got 75s). I may lose a few yard (which I can't confirm) but I can certainly feel the stability. I measured my ss with ss radar and I didn't notice any drop with trono. I am a smooth swinger with very moderate (rather slow?) tempo (I only accelerate at the end of swing).

Same here, I think either Callaway ran out of Trono shafts on hand or PGASS caught onto the error and is figuring out how to handle it. I definitely don't want to call and inquire about the order, but I'd sure love to have these come in before I take a trip to Vegas.

Any specs on the head size? How many cc's?

Currently have an F6 Baffler at 17.5 (147cc) that is firmly in the bag, but have been looking to recapture that magic in that 20-21 degree loft range. Hybrids go left. All the 7Ws I have tried look closed or are bigger than the baffler and just dont suit my eye. Hoping the UW is smaller than 147cc.

I’d wager it’s in the 140s. To my eye its shape reads like a fairwayish-hybrid and not the other way around. I really like the look of it and that’s from someone who has always gamed a long iron or 5w in this spot around the 19* area

Likely to be more accurate when going shorter. If you are going 1/2 long with a heavier shaft, all they can do is put the lightest weight in the head and it is what it is.

I'm convinced it is all based on grip selections. 10/20 order that is still processing.
