Putting lead tape to the toe to make it more toe hang

Not sure if this is something that really makes a difference but does adding lead tape work?

i have central shafted putter that is face balanced If I want more toe hang instead of moving the shaft closer to the heel, how about add more weight to the toe ?

In my experience, you would need a lot of weight to change the toe hang. That much weight on the toe would also change the center of gravity.

Yeah, the amount of toe hang is almost all derived from where a line extending from the long straight upper portion of the shaft intersects the head.  If it is in the center of the face, then it’s face balanced.  Adding weight won’t do as much as you’d hope.

So this is a quirk of centered shafted putters, face angle really doesn't matter. In a normal putter, as state by the above poster the shaft intersection line determines the toe hang, which is why you get toe hang in the first place. In a center shafted putter because the intersection is through the center of the face the head will either be 0 toe hang is the putter is perfect balance or 90 degrees depending on which side has more weight. 

 

So what does this mean for you. Just add lead tape to the toe until it feels right because toe hang will tell you nothing. You can get more of an effect than you think just from a feel perspective (I've done it).

Takes a ton of weight to impact toe hang. The amount of weight needed would make the putter useless because of how it will feel and because of how much it would impact face at impact.
