In the last picture it almost looks like a pre-worn leading edge, almost v-sole level. Is that a weird shadow or is there some grind there?

There is a slight grind on the back of the soles in these irons. Not sure for what purpose though..

It says a lot about the Mizuno 223 irons when a non-sponsored PGA tour player (Rory Sabbatini) puts them in his bag. They look really good and definitely up my alley. Player's club with slightly wider sole.  I definitely would be interested in demoing the Mizuno 223s. I'm just afraid I might like them.😂 I would just would want the 223s to be forged carbon steel, but don't think they can do that given the construction. I bought/tried the JPX 921 Hot Metal Pro which are excellent clubs, but every fiber in my body is a forged carbon steel guy. So, the feel and feedback was not quite what I wanted. I then bought the 2019 T100 irons. Really like the feel. They definitely have more of draw bias for me. Still getting used to them.

Mizuno pro 221/223/225 official release was yesterday here in Korea.  Adding a few photos and a comparison to my current gamer taylormade P7mc 6 iron.  The head is slightly larger with a wider sole. A more forgiving head that I wanted.

Reflection of a door maybe?

Either way, was a nice, clean looking iron until the last one.  Will be good to see the others (soon?)

So by looking at the pics of the hosel stamping it looks like a solid 1 piece 1025E carbon steel in the 8-PW and the 7-4 is a forged chromoly with a milled cavity filled with some kind of insert.  Very interested in these, it’s like a combo set that looks the same all the way through the set instead of having different models mixed together.  I can’t wait for the reviews to start coming out.

Based on what Vosh had said over the Mizuno Golf Live stream a few weeks ago, the 223 is the new version of the MMC, but with more punch and forgiveness.  He also said that the 223 basically has the tech of the JPX 921 Forged rolled into a smaller head and supposedly is more forgiving than the JPX 921 forged.  Rory Sabbatini put in his bag last week and had a T3 finish and in Korea, Sei Young Kim (LPGA Tour) put it in her bag, as she was interviewed about the 223 in Mizuno Korea's Youtube channel.  Excited to try these out but we just had a cold front roll into Korea today and the expected temps for the next few days are around freezing to mid-50s.  I may need to start hitting these first on the driving range next to a heater.

One thing I don’t like is a fatter sole of players clubs even with the toe grind they have going on it’s still a wide sole. That p7mc looks much better to me in regard to players club turf interaction. Save the fatter sole for jpx line.

Unfortunately what I have seen from this line, there isn’t a players mp iron with a thin sole for that precise turf interaction. The mb even has a more fat sole and you are going into the mb territory that carries all the other unforgiving qualities like perimeter weighting.

Very cool.  I'd have to see these in person, and I like to see that Mizuno is making better looking PW now, but I bet these are close to the i210 in size?  The P7mc is pretty small at address, not in a bad way, just something to consider when looking at the two side by side.

More and more curious why someone would pick the 223 over the 225 now. The 223s are looking a bit chunky monkey here.

Being a lefty is one reason — looks like 223 will be our only option.

I play the 921 Tours now but would love something slightly more forgiving in the 6 and 7 irons. Since they didn’t make MP-20 MMCs or 921 Forged for lefties in the 6 or 7, these are right up my alley.

Earlier this year when I had to chance to speak to someone in Mizuno R&D he hinted at something like this when we were discussing the upcoming release of the MMC (didn’t know about the name change st that time)  I’m pleased to see it may actually been true.

as a quasi gi iron, they look fantastic.

the leading edge softening is more pronounced than my AP2 to almost being a slight v sole. JP can work with that small amount of bump.

it is hard not to love Mizuno irons...a life long love affair...

I like the head shapes. Slightly thicker top line doesn't bother me. But those hosels look enormous -- beefy. Maybe it's the camera angle.
