One thing I don’t like is a fatter sole of players clubs even with the toe grind they have going on it’s still a wide sole. That p7mc looks much better to me in regard to players club turf interaction. Save the fatter sole for jpx line.

Unfortunately what I have seen from this line, there isn’t a players mp iron with a thin sole for that precise turf interaction. The mb even has a more fat sole and you are going into the mb territory that carries all the other unforgiving qualities like perimeter weighting.

100%. Every Mizuno I've tried with a wider sole is a tough go for me. The combo of wide + low bounce is a bad combo as half of our season is so damp. I have a set of MP4 on the way which I am going to play with a 919 HMP 4 iron bent 2 weak to add some bounce to it. Mizuno blades are amazing through the turf for me despite being low bounce but any of their clubs with big Word not allowed ends are tough.

Based on the pics here and review videos from Japan I'm thinking a blend of 225 and 221 might be more appealing than a full set of 223.

The 62s were the first Mizuno set I ever played and the ones that got me hooked. Not sure anything I have played since (MP-18 SC, MP-20 MB) is any better. Good purchase!

I was able to have a few range sessions now with the new 223 irons and these feel butter soft, a trademark Mizuno feel.  I haven't played Mizuno irons since MP-64s and realized again how good Mizuno irons feel compared to other OEMs.  Forgiveness wise, I keep going back and forth with the P7MC and it is clear that the 223 is much more forgiving, which is what I wanted as I am no longer able to practice/play as often.  Overall I am very happy with the performance and feel of these irons.  It may be a honeymoon period review but having played this game for over two decades, I have a feeling that I am going to stick with these for a long time.

Without being too much of a pain.....could you provide an address position side by side with 223 6i and P7MC 6i? Thanks in advance

This is a side by side address position photo for the 8 iron. Can you tell if there is a big difference?

Mizzy on right? Looks tiny bit higher in the toe region but similar blade length.....thank you!

Mizzy is actually the left! Can't tell much of a difference between the two at address.

Have you gotten on course with these beauts?

No, unfortunately it is relatively difficult to get on the course here in Korea.  Will report back when I do get a chance.

Will the 223 have a set GW ?

If not I still have a couple JPX-900F GW that I really like due to their ground leading edge -> my greenside chipping weapon of getting up & down.

WITB: Sun Mountain 5.5LS
Titleist TSi2 11* with Ventus Red Velocore 6
Titleist TSi2 15* fairway with Evenflow White 65

Titleist TSi2 21* and 24* hybrid with Evenflow White 90
Titleist T200 5-GW with Steelfiber i95cw
Cleveland RTX Zipcore 54* & 58* with Steelfiber i110cw
Seemore Platinum M7 Tour with SS Flatso 3.0
Set #2: MP-18 MMC 5-PW with Steelfiber i95cw

More and more curious why someone would pick the 223 over the 225 now. The 223s are looking a bit chunky monkey here.

The 223’s are chunky, and are larger overall than the 225’s. I’d imagine some might go for the 223’s because of the feel versus the hollow 225’s. Top line is slightly thinner on the 223’s as well, so top down optics might sway someone towards 223’s.

It is a noticeable difference. The one on the right looks better to me. My preferred shape. More of a squat head vs a long blade.

    • Sony Open Pics from January 11, 2022 Part 1
I was able to get out to the Sony Open today to take a few pics.  I guess due to Covid precautions they kept the spectators pretty far from the players.  Also due to camera restrictions they've put in place, I wasn't able to bring the big lens like I normally do. Hopefully they'll ease up on the ropes and I'll be able to get more pics tomorrow!

Anyone have info on Cobra's plans for the upcoming release season? I know the blades are new and assume the King Tours are sticking around for another year (or two); maybe a Forged Tec and Utility update along with their SGI stuff & woods?
