Where old golf clubs end up

Thrift shopping with the wife and she calls and says come out back as there are a lot of clubs.  She continues that she doesn’t know how good they are and look old.  This is what I see when I get back there…

 

 

 

 

Needless to say I did not spend much time sifting through the bags of clubs as you couldn’t get near most of them if you wanted.

I'd be climbing over things trying to find older wedges and complete iron sets.

I hit the Mizuno T zoid driver in the top pic for about a year. Was great at the time.

I think most everyone played or at least hit the Mizuno back then.  I played mine with an X100 steel shaft and it was awesome.

All my kids, 5 of them, their wedges all came from thrift stores. I’m in 14 wedges about 20 bucks. They needed a little buffing and new shafts but I have a staff bag full of wedge shafts

Up until last year, most of that would've been donated to various kid's programs and other charities, or continue to occupy floor space. Now, it's an epic eBay score or marked up 100% in a brick and mortar store to meet demand for the newby golfer. Just lends credence to the old saying, "one mans trash is another mans treasure".

Looks like @cardoustie 's garage EXCEPT Uncle Cardy only uses $400+ exotic aftermarket shafts.

Should have offered $1000 for the entire lot, probably could have doubled or tripled your money.

That actually is what my basement kinda looked like til this year I sold $6,800 worth of stuff on eBay. Total cleanse of my golf filth. Now to reload….😂

I beat there are 100's of WRX members that are similar to you or worse.

I'm exempt cause I DON'T meet both of the TWO requisites to be  real WRX member:

1) A club ho

2) Driving the golf ball 340+ yards...7 iron at least 210+ yards

Oh ya...$6800 does not take long if one has expensive clubs lying around...again many WRX have oodles of expensive clubs....Uncle Cardy has shown some pictures of his stash on WRX.

Mine was $50 to $150 at a time. I just had some very good condition sets of shafts laying around, driver shafts, club heads, wedges, putters and I just cleaned house. Feels good to be rid of it all actually

LOL....that's a lot of transactions.

I've never sold clubs on eBay....I've only sold stuff via Craigslist....I might use FB in the future.

I had a set of the T-Zoid irons when they first came out when I was a kid.  Long gone, but I loved them.

Eventually they will be sent off for scrap, shredded and melted down, now the only question is in the USA or overseas.
