Odyssey 7s idea

Loving my 7s … hitting my lines consistently and speed control with the OG insert is great.  Plus, it is so good inside of 7 feet.

 

but … I think it would be great for me visually if there was an option for a larger head.  Anyone else feel the same or am I nuts?

 

I have 20g weights in it FWIW

I'm pretty sure the White Hot OG 7 is the larger head size.  Odyssey has done a smaller head version before in other lines, but I don't recall a bigger sized #7 head.

I could be wrong, but I think the exo 7 comes in a larger head with the slant neck.

I think the 7s OG is the perfect size, same size as the Toulon Las Vegas H7.  I owned both and liked both….sold the OG because I liked the Toulon feel slightly more.

I just got a EXO 7s and a RSX 7 Milled, and can confirm, the EXO is about a 25-30% larger profile. Cannot attest to others but the EXO is fairly big.

@cardoustie: if the double-bend neck =isn’t a dealbreaker

 

...then the Tank7 with the WhiteHotPro insert (or Tank Cruiser/ Works Tank7) might be oldies-but-goodies? Or search eBay for a MetalXMilled Mid Belly/ broomstick 🧹  conversion?

 

Those will be ~400/+ gram larger-sized #7 heads

Is that the same model Kisner uses? EXO definitely looks bigger than the 7s IMO

They definitely do at least 2 different size heads in the 7

 

Had the Versa 7 BWB and that was the smaller profile, bought a Versa Works 90 and that was the larger head. Then moved to the X7M and would say that almost identical in size to the larger profile. Now have the White Hot Pro 2.0 and that is again the larger head similar to the Scotty X7M

 

Personally quite like the look of the smaller profile, but the head weight was a bit low for me at the time

Taking the RSX milled out for its first spin today. The way the post meets the double bend shaft is weird, it’s angled out and not perpendicular, but suits my eye great, as it positions the shaft completely out of view. I believe these originally came with a single bend shaft and that could account for the difference? Still face balanced too.

 

That leads to another question, installing these shafts must be tricky, twist the shaft until you get proper face loft and lie angle???
