Is it just me? Loved G410 hybrids, hate G425 hybrids.

Have and still own both. For everybody still in love with the 410s I totally get it. Based off my success with those clubs I fully admit it was silly to buy the G425s. The 410s did do it all and the feel was incredible. Well stuck shots felt like a tuning fork. Have about 10 to 15 rounds with the 425s and don’t know that I have stuck them and gotten the same feel as the 410s.
I am using the 425s though for a couple different reasons. First, the turbulators. I think they are hideous. As the club wears too, the paint seems to come away at those points too. All that being said, I think the are legit as an alignment aide. I always marveled at the contact I made with the 410s and I thing those stupid things had something to do with it.

i am also sticking with 425s, because the tech is legit. The face wrap is hotter. No question in my mind they go further. (Admittedly, not the end all be all when you are gapping.)

I also feel the “spinsicity” tech is also real. Shots stuck low on the face, something I do with 3 hybrid often, have more consistent results.
The fact that anybody prefers 410 to the 425 does not surprise me though. They are different clubs in many ways.

I know this is off topic. But I’m also toying with 425 5 wood. Use it primarily as a 4 wood set to 16 degrees.

Maybe not as hot as my cally super hybrid but holy cow straight and lethal. The dispersion is becoming a weapon. Even off the a tee, which the shallow face of Ping always seemed to not excel with, this club just goes where I aim it every time

The 425 line really is a hit for ping.

I'm close to putting my 410 hybrid back in the bag.  It was my security blanket club. I just haven't found the same magic with the 425. I've hit some good shots with it. But some squirely ones as well.  I just don't have that blind trust I had with the 410.

I went with the G425 driver, supposedly the most forgiving driver available right?  I returned it after one round.  While I am sure the MOI is high, the spin seemed so low it just knuckled all over the place, I hit a few pretty long drives with it, but I had a 2 way miss going and it was nose diving into the left rough alot.  The G400 is the straightest driver I have ever hit, I have heard even better things about the G410, and I love the 410 FW's.

The online reviews have been mixed as well, the "other site" that does club testing did not rate it well either, after saying the 410LST was the greatest driver ever a couple of years ago.

I was the same way with the G425. I wanted to love it. i'd owned the G15 for 5 years. The G400 Max was the best driver I owned. I really liked the G410 Plus, but it wasn't the 400 Max.  The G425 was marketed as the best of both worlds.  But I had the same two way miss that you talked about.  All things being equal I would have kept the G410.

I used to play the Anser hybrids which I loved, had a G25 20 degree hybrid for a while (felt light) and hit my buddy's G425 19 degree with the orange Tensei shaft and went out and bought one that week.  Had it for 6 months now and absolutely love it.  Nothing left, consistent powerful flight, great feeling, mid spin and goes pretty straight for the most part.  Really good off the tee for short or tight par fours.  Highly recommend.  Maybe I need to hit the G410 hybrids to enhance my golfing pleasure!

Sorry I’m late to a good thread. I have G400 hybrids 3,4 and 5.  Got a G425 4 hybrid with same tour 85 shaft but returned it.  Less reliable than my G400, definitely no better.  Agree with other similar posts.

I play PXG irons +1”, so my Ping 5 hybrid is the same length and only 1 degree stronger than the 6i.  Sure enough, I play the 6i 175-180, the 5hy 180-185, only 5 yards gap.

But the hybrid is so stupid easy to hit.  I may drop the 6i and play the Ping 26* hybrid as a 5/6 club.  Anyone else doing this?

I’ll try the G410 hybrids at the right price, maybe dial loft up 1* for gapping.

In the meantime the G400s are terrific.  I don’t hook them any more than anything else, maybe the tour 85 shaft.

I upgraded from the 410 to the 425.   I have both the 17 and the 19, both with the stock Tensei Pro Orange shafts.   I love them. I actually am able to hit a small fade with them if I want, they have not been going left for me.  I feel that the new facewrap and spinsistancy tech on them has been noticeable to me, as I am seeing a bit better dispersion and distance consistency.  I’ve had hooky hybrids before, and these are not hooky at all in my hands.

Had 410. Now have the 425. The look of the 425 is much better to me. Other than that, I see very little difference. Both are great models.

If it’s any consolation I hated the 410 and 425 fairways and still rock the 400 stuff

I play the 410 4h & 5h, but transitioned back to Eye 2+ BeCu irons this fall.  With their archaic lofts, the 5h is closer to a 4 iron, but same point.  My issue so far is- I really enjoy hitting the 4 iron off the tee, it's just fun... but it's not really any better than the 5h.  I want to carry both, but at some time I have to make a decision.

Buoyed by my success with G410 hybrids and the almost universal love for the G425 here and elsewhere I recently bought a set (thankfully used) of the G425s.

Initial range sessions were encouraging, if not showing any measurable improvement over my G410s.

On course, however, they've been basically awful.

In three rounds (all unfortunately competition) I haven't hit a single decent hot with the 19 or 22 and just slightly more with the 26. I'm hooking the crap out of them.

A chap I play with, who has G410s, reckons the G425s set up much more closed.

But I can't see why they are so different apart from being another of Gof's Funny Mysteries.

have no opinion on the hybrids as I have never hit the 425 but I will say that for me personally the 410 driver blew away the 425. The 410 is my favorite ping Driver of all time
