Graphite Putter Shafts

Just got my first graphite putter shaft and I'm hooked. Full disclosure, have MMT Tapered iron shafts so really embracing this lifestyle. Here's what I'm rolling and what I feel from each:

 

KBS CT Tour (.370 parallel tip, white pearl) in Taylormade TP Bandon 1 with Lamkin skinny grip

- Smooth as smooth can be. Butter.

- Light club head, very soft touch

- Great distance control on "feel putts"

- Better downhill than uphill, such good touch downhill

 

**corrected KBS is steel based!

 

Mitsubishi Diamana Putter (1.0 Flex, .355 tip) on mySpider Tour, L Neck with Lamkin skinny grip

- Heavier overall feel, especially club head (likely head size?)

- Only feels heavier in head, compared to standard spider tour with standard steel

- Very smooth transition & touch

- Solid distance again

- Easier uphill, still smooth downhill

 

All putters are super personal, but coming from steel to graphite the soft touch is what I really dig. Distance is great on either. It comes down to weight and feel which is super personal. I could play either and be stoked. Gotta spend more time with option 2 on course as it's the newbie.

 

Anyone else playing with graphite shafts and enjoying? Very few reviews online these days.

I am thinkering with the idea of putting a graphite shaft in my Nike Method Origin putter.

But when i searched for the kbs ct, it seems like that is a steel based shaft?

I believe you’re right. 
 

recently put an LAGP putter shaft in a custom built putter and it has helped me on intermediate putts per arccos. Maybe placebo or maybe it’s working 🙂

I have an Ozik Matrix hybrid shaft 0.370 that i am contemplating putting in my Method putter. Have anyone tried this?

I would think any hybrid shaft should be strong enough (mine is stiff) to handle a 340-370g head?

You’re right! Placebo haha. Still enjoying!

So i finished up my project. I must say it feels great!

Off course I had to chose S flex because of my high swingspeed..

Matrix shaft now have a new line they can sell 😂

I've got a LAGP 105 in my Odyssey White Hot OG 1WS, an original Stability shaft in an old Scotty Squareback, an Accra in a DF 2.1 and have used the Stability Tour and the Stroke lab shafts in the past. My preference right now is the LAGP.

A hybrid shaft is going to be super soft in a putter, softer than any putter shaft out there

Welcome to the tinkering dark-side 😎

 

I stuck a whiteboard in my putter not too long ago. As others have said, these shafts are designed for lighter heads and won’t play stiff, but I enjoy the weight implications and the utter ridiculousness of a x flex driver shaft in my putter haha

Would love to get feedback from others as well on was there a difference in feel and performance having a graphite putting shaft vs steel?
