Not worth sending to scotty imo. Can do it cheaper elsewhere norcal bos Flanigan to name a few

Did the owner have a few too many 3 putts and drag it behind the golf cart on the paved path for a round or 2?

What course of action is even required to get a putter to look like this?

 

The only scenario I can think of is giving it to toddlers as a toy and leaving it there for years. And the toddlers were only ever allowed to play on concrete floors

😁I got the putter as is, with all the dings etc., just wanted to give it a try. Seems to be okay. 
Probably the ding was caused by a wedge slamming into the golf bag after a bad approach shot.

The black sole/face piece is aluminum, the custom shop will not restore that.  You’re only option is aftermarket.  
 

if you add what it will cost to restore that to what you paid, I’ll bet you could find the same putter in much better condition.  I’ve got around 10 different X-5/5.5/12 putters, they’re great.  This specific 5.5 model is one of my favorites, just sets up nicely.  If you like it enough, it may be worth the hunt to get a cleaner one.

When it comes to putters, spend more to get the cleanest example you can find. Paying $160 for this and then paying another $150+ to refinish it is a waste of time. Especially with the damage that putter has, it’ll take a lot of grinding to remove all of those dings.

Quite honestly, the only real bad spot is the leading edge of the sole, the rest is really workable.  Refinishing the black aluminum will need to be done with something like cerakote,

I find it absolutely amazing how so many people seem so bad at looking after their clubs? How the heck do you even get it that bad? He must have spent hours smashing it against a brick wall!

 

if people can’t look after things, they shouldn’t be allowed nice things in the first place!

Decided to sell it.

Sending it to the Custom Shop will cost me at least $310. I think they will replace the aluminum plate and other restoration/refinishing works. Opted to just buy a new SC and send it for customization.
