Question About Yupiteru Launch Monitor

Just got the Yupiteru GST5W. It was $136.50 off Amazon. Haven't had a chance to take it to the range or on the course yet, but swing speed and carry distance estimated in the back yard seem to be VERY plausible.

I have a question though, for anyone who owns one. You have to identify the club you are swinging, and there are default loft settings for the clubs. You can also change percentages on the default loft of the club. I assume the default is 100%. So... if I have, for example, a loft of 32 degrees on my 7 iron, and the default is 31 degrees, do I set the percentage as 97%, i.e., 31/32=.97? Realistically, maybe it doesn't make much of a difference? Eight of my clubs are different from the default by only one degree, and 4 of them are right on the money. My sand wedge is off by 2 degrees. Seeing how the carry distance is calculated, 1 degree probably doesn't make much difference, but I'm just curious about the way this feature is used.

Unless you strike the ball as consistently as Colin Morikawa, this is going to make zero practical difference, there are too many other variables - loft isn't the only determining factor for distance, how hot the face is and whether the weight is low in the club heads (including irons) to promote a higher launch are all factors.

If you are determined to fiddle with the loft settings, you might as well go the whole hog and benchmark against Trackman, or pace off distances yourself, you can then adjust each loft setting to an exact number (which won't match the measured lofts of your clubs) which gives you accurate gapping to what you observe on course with your stock shots.
