Srixon Z Star Diamond

Jake Hutt (Golf coach) posted a video of him unboxing z star diamonds for testing and Srixon shared the video as if it was an advertisement of sorts. Will these be hitting the market to compete with Left Dash and Callaway LS?

The Z-Star Diamond ball has been available in Japan for a while (2009ish). Never heard anything about it being a "special" ball in any regards.

Regular model in Asia. Most Srixon pros are on the XV.

I like the Srixon XV because it's a great ball and you can get deals on it. This new Diamond ball seems to be trying to mesh the compression and speed of the XV with the spin of the regular Z-Star. Sounds great. Personally I love the availability of all these "in between" balls that were previously Tour Only. I'd like to try this one.

Same as the XV, I believe 96 is the number Srixon has given

According to the MyGolf$py article, Srixon lists the overall compression spec at 102 which is the same they have for the XV. 96 was what MyGolf$py measured the XV in their ball lab but differences in measurement variables could account for this (regular ZStar also measured softer).

Srixon website states it's 102 compression.

For a player that wants lower spin with the driver bit more spin around the greens I’m confused if I need the Z Star Diamond or the regular Z star? Lol

I believe the cover  and first layer are both white so it’s deceiving

The article from that other site didnt really show much difference besides feel when comparing Z Star and ◇. I will still be trying out the ZStar (havent tried the new ones from last year yet). The XV was always too clicky around and on the green.

Diamond has more mid-low iron spin, Z Star has more wedge and driver spin

So for less driver spin and more green side spin the Diamond would meet that criteria?

Just contacted Srixon UK to see if these will make it to Europe. Nothing showing on their website.

Looks like a Pro V1X type of ball. I’m sure the cover is pretty hard.

Diamond has more mid-low iron spin, less green side and driver spin. You would need to decide what is most important, but tbh it likely won't make a ton of difference as its only a couple 100 rpm either direction. The cover looks to be REALLY thin but really hard to accomplish that, compression is listed at 102 which is definitely hard.

Same compression as the XV so definitely on the firm side.

No reply from Srixon UK yet. Not sure these will get a European release as it took ages for the left dash to arrive in the UK.

 The other site was saying it plays softer. I have a hard time seeing that. I agree, the XV is very firm and clicky. If this plays the same, I'll be passing quickly.

Not outside of the realm of possibility.  Two balls can have different feeling covers and still have the same "overall" compression.  Still should still be on the firm side though.

curious if the diamond feels more like the standard z or the xv

Crossfield just did a you tube comparison between z star and the diamond. Touch more spin on mid irons, other than that performance was the same.

The fact Crossfield has reviewed it tells me we will see these in the UK.

Thanks for the info! Sounds like Crossfield said Diamond feels more like XV than it does Z Star.
