Looks like Brooks will be playing the diamond. Interesting to see if any other tour guys will switch over

Already has been playing it. Srixon has been making this ball for 10+ years for Japan market and tour players. Anyone tour player that wants to play it would already have been using it.

Compared to the XV, it's pretty much the same just some more iron spin and softer feel. I've been meaning to try the XV for a while but my club got a lot of Diamond in stock so I'm going to test them out and maybe make the switch if I like them, and we're out of Tour B X lol.

Same boat, if these feel softer than xv, this will be my gamer.

Looking forward to testing these later this month. Played the XV years ago as my gamer vmvyt was just too clicky. If this is indeed a nice blend of the Star and XV then I will be thrilled.

Just played a quick 9. Didn't have an XV to compare it with but feel wise it's similar to the Tour B X. Have a Left Dash and the Diamond is much softer than that. Great distance and flight off the driver, approach has really good spin and feels nice around the greens. Cover also has good durability. Didn't notice the seam and with a couple sand shots the cover didn't tear up too badly. I'm gonna play this ball in the meantime and will give updates down the line.

Love the XV and my only feedback was I wish it had more approach spin. I really do think this ball may be the perfect fit

You guys are tempting me to pick up a box of these and try them, lol.  Currently play the left dash and MTB-X and they fit my game, but I like to tinker with clubs and balls.  Loved the XV, did not like the regular Z-Star.  If this is somewhere in the middle, that would be good.

Doubt that’s gonna happen, they are already sold out through April.

Only if you insist on ordering directly through the Srixon website.  They are available online and in stores at a lot of places.

I didn’t say the balls aren’t available. I was answering tjl48 about there not being a BOGO promo from Srixon considering they’ve sold thru their projection until April the chances of a BOGO are slim.

When they've done the promotions in the past, they've extended to retailers selling the balls (not just directly from them) and they haven't excluded particular models.  Last year they did 3 for 2 instead of BOGO and I imagine it will be the same this year if they do a promotion but it's possible that they don't do it at all.  Hasn't been unusual in the past for them to be out of stock of models (and/or color options) on their site that were available elsewhere.

Hit 75ish putts last night on the mat and then alternated between Pro V1 and the diamond for about 15 minutes, can tell no difference in feel off the putter which was nice.

off putter feel alone - these are noticeably firmer than the 2021 z star, and a hair softer than the 2021 XV.

need to see how these perform around the greens and course.

Hmmm. That is different from my experience. They are slightly firmer but by no means clicky.

This is what I have been noticing. When I put a good stroke on the ball, the feel is negligible. I've been messing with the Z Star ◇ and 2021 TP5X. Really nice feel. I would call is soft but responsive compared to 2019 TP5 and 2020 BXS I have been playing and used when testing with putter. The latter 2 are almost too soft feeling now.

Finally got a round in yesterday with the ◇. Intrigued is how I am feeling this morning. There were no weaknesses. The ball performed really well in every aspect. Got some nice bite on 20 yard controlled chips. Great flight throughout the bag. Good distance. Feel is firm but not clicky. Much better than the XV. Still would prefer it a touch softer, but I can live with this version. Miss hits are where you can really feel the firmness. Excited to give it much more testing time. I think Srixon accomplished their goal with this ball. It is an all around very good ball.

Following up on this post. I've played 5 rounds with this ball now, and I still concur with what I've said earlier. Long off the driver, good iron spin, nice feel, very good durability. Current ball I'm on has about 30 holes of play, multiple tree hits and some sand shots, but the cover is still holding up very well and barely has any gashes. I'm 99% sure the last pic shows where the seam is and it's still barely noticeable unless you're trying to look for it.

My only gripe with the ball is that it doesn't have as much bite around the greens as I'd personally like. On mid yard pitch shots it doesn't check back like I'm used to on the Tour B X, but instead pretty much just comes to a stop without coming back. Might be what you're looking for, but I could use a bit more spin.

Overall it's a great ball with really good durability. Personally I will probably switch back to Tour B X when the new ones come out, but other than the greenside spin I'm a huge fan.

I’ve played 3 9’s with the Diamond and it’s a very good ball. Long off the driver and great spin with wedges. Very durable as well. If you haven’t tried I highly recommend.
