Can they please stop with the Mickey Mouse setups? The players are world class. They don't need a ridiculously shortened par 4 with a easy peasy pin placement. Sheesh.

Agree.

Especially when maybe the avg driving distance is 255 and the course setup short likely no longer than 6400 yds and with wide fairways with non-penal rough...the gals can beat up the course.

BUT

Many courses don't want to host a LPGA event....so the gals have to settle for any course willing to be a host.

BTW, what's with the tape delayed weekend coverage? Oy veh.

There are showing a Schwab Cup Championship 2nd rd repeat & GC Pregame from 10-1pm....so there is a window to show live LPGA golf.

BUT

The LPGA coverage wouldn't feature the leaders playing the back 9 live.....so they GC decided to show more FIGJAM.🤣

Luv FIGJAM....he didn't play nor putted well on Fri....hope he goes low on the weekend to win.

@KBong I was acquainted with someone who worked for the Boys and Girls Club of Portland. Part of their staff and volunteers would volunteer and work at the tournament all week and everyone would volunteer on the weekends because the BGC was a beneficiary of the tournament and from what I was told BGC would get to keep all proceeds from parking fees.

In Arkansas, most of the volunteers seem to be Walmart Corporate employees or employees of the many vendors Walmart does business with.

I've been to the Portland event 5 times.

Yes, the kids of the B&GC would work the parking lot and all the $5 parking fees went to the B&GC.

Many kids would also be standard bearers.

They would ask to be put into the popular pairings.

I knew a vol who was a standard bearer...he would do 36 holes a day...he didn't ask for any specific groups...so he was dew sweeping and vol'd for the late PM wave...so he had the scrub/washout LPGA pros.

At the now defunct Manulife event....many employees at the large adm office in Waterloo would vol at the event.

My FAVE tournament, and we paid nothing for our shirts AND got lots of good food and prizes, was the LPGA tourney in the Bahamas on Paradise Island. Yes we paid for housing and transport but hey, it was a true vacation! Wish they would go back there.

Did you stay at Atlantis?...it's NOT cheap.

Many loops didn't like the event because accommodations weren't cheap on the Island.

You really are a HUGE LPGA fangirl volunteering a lot.

I like this course but yeah they could set it up just a bit tougher.

Yes - the 94 yard par 3 is insulting to the players.

Now that is an understatement!  😄   Sheesh, many recreational players would be embarrased if they did not have a good look at birdie on a 94 yard hole!  🤣

Who sets these courses up?

They're cheapening women's golf, it's crazy.

It's remarkable that Nelly is sharing the lead with her bulky putter.  Her "strokes gained tee-to-green" must be off the chart, >> 12.0 for three rounds for sure.

Tough to see either Lexi or Jennifer winning; maybe Christina Kim will rise to the occasion?

I think UBC #12 (the 9's are now reversed) is the shortest par 3 at 114 from the blues of "championship" length courses in the GVRD....a JOKER of a hole.

I believe there's a LPGA course setup committee....they are a bunch of JOKERS.

The gals can demolish a course at 6600+ yards at a 130+ slope.

They rarely, if not never, play the course at the listed yardage on lpga.com.

There are so many great courses....but many don't want to host a LPGA event...no real benefits to the club.

I hope Xtina, SNaP V2 and Nelly gag.

I think they are too far back with the talent at the top...but I'm rooting for a Lydia win...or a Patty win.

Grant Boone mentioned two players inside CME Top-60 will skip Tour Championship next week.  One is easy, Shanshan Feng.

Who is the other one; Inbee or Hyo Joo?  Anyone has any insight?

Golf Central just said Shanshan & Inbee are out.

Jenny Money has basically confirmed her retirement a while ago as we all know.

I wonder if Shanshan's loop...Mercer will find a new permanent bag.

For those who didn't know....Shanshan would never pull a club out of the bag...Mercer always did.

I'm kinda scratching my head at that.....I guess Inbee's still in S. Korea???

I guess a BIG pay cheque isn't that important to Inbee?...I think Brad might like 10% for a win.

I'm thinking Inbee is having a bit of an issue getting pregnant....I would have thought she'd have children by now.

Same with Gulbis???

If Lexi wins, and I hope so, I’ll bet we’ll see tears of joy on 18.

The 19 year old Japanese gal who just won the Women's Asia Pacific Am couldn't stop crying when she won....good on her and congrats.

The Thai gal who looks like a Thai Namdalla (Sung Hyun Park) who had the 54 hole lead just couldn't finish it off for the win.

Money is always important, no matter how rich people are!

It makes sense that Shanshan and Inbee are the two skipping; the desire to excel and to win have diminished.

I'm a bit surprised Shanshan decided to retire...but when enough is enough...it's time to go.

I think she also misses the GREAT people of China and home sick.

I think she has a golf academy in China and I believe her dad is/was involved in a golf a**'n/federation in China.

I think Shanshan resided in DFW while in the US.

It's crazy how two chubby & non athletic looking women could be ELITE LPGA pros.

Both are confident golfers.

What a tournament and what a leaderboard!

It feels like every contender loses a stroke if she misses a putt within 15 feet.

There could still be some wild swings tomorrow but the contest has the potential to get very tight.  A Nelly win won't change anything (common factor) but the win-place-show finishes among SYK, the KOs, Brooke, Lee6, and Jessica Korda could really move things.  Golf Dino has thrown in the towel too early!

Of course it's possible, but not probable.  What are the permutations?  You and I both have Lee6 . . . JYK, Nelly, etc.  So the way for me to close the gap is some big points from Brooke and I am not sure that she is able to overcome that kind of deficit.  And I don't see Nelly giving away that many strokes.
