Brooks Koepka Srixon Driver

Recommended Posts

Last season he tested Callaway, Srixon and TM drivers. At the same time he put the Srixon irons in the bag. Not surprised he’s back testing since pretty much his whole game is off. I doubt there’s a signing here because this is a repeat of last fall.

I would not be surprised if he went zx5. They have a tour issue version that Shane Lowry has been using.

Just a lower loft option? If that's the case I might need to reach out to my rep as I tend to launch my ZX7 too high.

I am not 100% clear on the difference. Lower loft, different head size, no idea. I just know it exists.

I was also told the Brooks signed with Srixon, but that is not confirmed either.. We shall see...

Also thought that he was going to sign with Srixon when the deal with Callaway supposedly fell through last year.  That did not work out well for Chase.

This would be a nice addition for Srixon.

That would be new, the last I heard down the Srixon line of communication he didn't sign a deal because he didn't like the ball.

I've been hearing through the grapevine through my good buddy who has worked for Srixon as a rep in the past who still has ties to them that the proto you're talking about has a smaller head and spins less.  We had a discussion recently that lead to the topic of a proto floating around the different tours, not just the PGA.  😉  And before you guys ask, no he doesn't have access to these heads atm.

There was a limited release of the ZX7 Diamond driver head in Japan. 440cc.

Well as a club pro on Srixon staff maybe I'll have to reach out to my rep and see what he knows.

Go for it.  I hope he relays some more info on this "mystery" proto.  Hell, I'd like to know more.  I've tried his ZX5 and like the way it looks, feels and sounds.  Smaller head and low spin are in my wheel house and I'm never opposed to trying something new/different especially when it comes to driver.

So Brooks is going to play a Srixon driver that is a tour only item that none of us can get/buy… So what’s the relevance 🤷🏼‍♂️

I can’t believe they would pay Brooks to do commercials and not sell his driver. If Brooks hits it as long and straight as his Sim2 then it will work for a lot of people. I bet they sell it.

Oh it will definitely help sell it if he plays well. We are the 1% of the golfing public that knows it’s not the actual driver that you can buy.

Or are you saying you don’t believe Srixon has tour only versions of their retail drivers?

This is literally all callaway does

It's what they all do. You can get tour heads, on the gray market. You can't walk into the nearest Dick's and get them.

Could be Patrick Reed. They’re both portly and wear beaded jewelry.  😂

just kidding. It’s not Reed. He uses the vardon grip.  This bead wearer is interlocking.

    • Sony Open Pics from January 11, 2022 Part 1
I was able to get out to the Sony Open today to take a few pics.  I guess due to Covid precautions they kept the spectators pretty far from the players.  Also due to camera restrictions they've put in place, I wasn't able to bring the big lens like I normally do. Hopefully they'll ease up on the ropes and I'll be able to get more pics tomorrow!
