Nelly Korda, Jin Young Ko and Lydia Ko is the last group out from Hole #1 at 9:15 AM EST; pairings were according to CME Ranking.

Lydia had her best season since 2016 with a LET win in addition to her lone LPGA win; but clearly is an odd woman out in this illustrious group.

Good luck to all of them!

Tough to call this one. How about another four way playoff with Sei Young, Jin Young, Nelly, and Lydia?

Lexi should be a factor again.

What???...you hate Tina too.

Lydia is only odd woman out for POY and RR #1 honors....ok....# of wins too.

BUT

IMO...she doesn't really take a backdoor to Nelly or JYK....maybe only off the tee.

She's 143 in driving accuracy....against Nelly at 50 & JYK at 13.

She's right up there with Nelly & JYK in scoring avg. and birdie avg...yes...Nelly leads quite nicely in the the latter.

I know I know...it is what it is...but one can only imagine if Lydia's total driving stat was better and she had the fire/horsepower of Nelly...her birdies #'s would excel based on 3 clubs shorter approach shots and more greens in two on par 5's.

It's those few shot of birdies that have cost her some trophies this year.

I think when Lydia is wild off the tee..it can be quite wild....causing issues to obtain GIR's for those poor drives.

But she is tops on the LPGA or near the top with her short game...up and downs, etc.   So her short game saves lots of strokes.

Yes...I know Lydia has brilliant hands with her chipping, putting and scrambling....too bad she lacks that fire power and tighter dispersion off the tee.....it would lead to so many more trophies....but as I said before....it is what it is....a shoulda coulda.

I've always said Lydia should visit a nearby neighbour...the retired Swedish pro .....for that special JUICE...she'd then be unbeatable.🤣

Tina ....where's your inner Tiger Mom when it's needed the most.

I haven't seen this one before:

Oh...you've SEEN IT BEFORE....you just likely don't want to remember it....how the Euros COMPLETELY DEMOLISHED the Yanks at the 2013 Solheim Cup....18-10

OLE OLE!

The only thing Nelly LEARNED that week was how to LOSE OFTEN watching her fellow countrywomen.

Big Sis went 1-2-1.....including a singles loss.

I was watching this SC all week with tears of joy running down my face.

OLE OLE!

@BrookeHenderson’s father Dave was on site @LPGA last week for the first time since January 2020. Back inside the ropes as she looks to finish the year strong

I have come to believe that he is holding her back from achieving greater things in the sport.  While there is no denying that it is comforting and nice for Brooke to have her family and have her dad/coach back again, it is his stubborness or perhaps even arrogance to think that he can be all things golf coach for her when she is competing at the top level.   He has done a wonderful job nurturing and supporting Brooke in reaching the LPGA and being a star on tour.  However, there eventually comes a time where we all reach a situation where our contributions to the development of an individual, whether it be an athlete, employee, or a protege produce minimal returns or gains for that individual.

I believe that is the case with Dave.  His stubborness in failing to support Brooke in developing her putting skills has been the biggest restraint or limiter to Brooke achieving such lofty heights usually reserved for the greats of the game.  It is reasonable to conclude that Dave is at a point of "not knowing what he doesn't know" regarding putting or his hubris has led him to think that he can achieve that as well.

What I do know for certain is that Brooke is at or very near the top of the women's golf world when it comes to her ball striking and shots gained, particularly off the tee and with her approaches.  The putting category leaves much to be desired.  She loses too many strokes to the field in the shorter putting distances, less than 15' feet, but she is really good at the 20-30' feet range and is practically top of the LPGA in strokes gained.

It is too much pressure on Brooke's game to try and focus or rely completely on her iron game, getting her even closer to the pin (proximity to the hole).  She must learn to minimize the damage from her putting and if she can do that, she will be back to winning multiple events per season.

As for Dave, he is eerily similar to a one Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. -- for those following from the other thread  🙂

LPGA 'On Line Media Center' , https://media.lpga.com/, has posted strokes gained and proximity information for all players starting this week.

Surprisingly, Brooke 'strokes gain putting' isn't as bad as I thought, she's -0.23 per round.

I've never cared for Dave.

Started long ago when he badgered Whan and pressured the media to "let" into the LPGA.

And all his over the top..."look at me" attention seeking celebrations when Brooke won a LPGA event early in her career.

The difficulty in looking purely or solely on the SG regarding putting, is that one cannot recover from a "bad putt" -- it directly affects the bottom line score, whereas a bad shot from the tee box or fairway can be recovered with a good shot, chip, etc.

Look at Brooke's percentages from inside 20 feet.  Well below the average.  Keep in mind that is the average of all players.  Loosely translated, it means that approximately a little over half the field is putting better than her on distances inside of 20 feet.   Her amazing ball striking is what has made her uber competitive.  Had she eliminated a couple of three putts per tournament she would have won aa few more events.   Or another way of looking at it is if she could get herself onto the positive side of the "strokes gained" she woule be even more competitive than she already is.

LPGA has started to really separate itself from JLPGA and KLPGA.

I appreciate your enthusiasm for the sport, but, let's keep things grounded a bit.  The LPGA was already head and shoulder above the JLPGA (being the second biggest in prize money) and the KLPGA and LET are so far behind that you cannot even see them in the rearview mirror.

It's a bit too close for my comfort this year.  LPGA total purse was close to $63.0 millions in 2021 with all the cancellations, compared to JLPGA's $40.0 million.

LPGA's purse should be at least two-three times that of JLPGA; Mollie will get it done!

CME GROUP TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP PURSE TO INCREASE TO $7 MILLION IN 2022

"The winner will receive $2 million, the largest single prize in the history of women’s golf, while all players who compete in the championship will receive at least $40,000."

" We are impressed with the leadership Commissioner Marcoux Samaan has demonstrated and are thrilled to help elevate women’s golf.”

Oh how I MISS HER...you know....the best version of Lydia.

The snaggle tooth, four-eyed LIBRARIAN...the young WUNDER KID...the PRODIGY who slayed all the dragons put forth.....the CAREFREE ASSASSIN who TOOK NO PRISONERS.

Then

Tina's GREED and caddy carousel.... upset the Golf Gods and sent Lydia into TAIL SPIN...with GREATNESS never to be found again .....only to be replaced by the REAL & NEW Ko....Jin Young.

Memo to Lydia...get back the glasses and eat some Bulgogi, Gimbap and BBQ pork belly and gain back your weight...maybe then will you be greeted with the career GRAND SLAM in 2022.

You can do it KIDDO!
