The truth is she'll be #1 for a long time!

I understand that you are a big fan of Nelly, but look, she was bested this year by Jin Young Ko . . . do you really think JYK will not have the No.1 ranking as a goal for 2022?   Maybe Nelly will have another exemplary year in 2022 -- who knows.  But such a statement is pure hyperbole -- you know that Golf is Golf and things can change rapidly, heck even from one round to the next.

Perhaps you should have stated:  "I hope that she'll be #1 for a long time"  . . .  then at least it is reflective of your thoughts, your opinion and not presented as a statement of fact.

As for me, I suspect that Nelly will have a downturn next year compared to this year.  Not to say that she won't win an event or two, but I do suspect that she will have a little bit of a "come down" or "let down" next year, but will look to have a nice "bounce back" in 2023.  I could be wrong and she may pleasantly "surprise" . . . and I use surprise mildly as it would not be much of a surprise if she did play that well.

As for World No.1 ranking . . . Jin Young Ko has been the World Number 1 longer than any other player since Annika.   Now that says something about how well rounded Jin Young's game is and to think that she played this season under a big cloud . . . her nagging wrist injury from earlier in the year and her loss of her grandmother which was a very important relationship for her.

One thing can be fairly certain though, and that is it should be another great season on the LPGA in 2022.

I'm pretty sure you know Virada...how about getting her on a Zoom call and post it to your website.

She can give us a good Thai golf update.

Already working on it . . .not sure if it will come together, but will keep trying.

In the meantime, here is something on Thailand and what some of the current players thoughts are about growing golf and elite women's golf in Thailand, with Pajaree Anannarukarn, first time winner this season (ISPS Handa Invitational) and Pinyada Kuvanun, an aspiring professional player:

Lesson #1:  Get the fact straight, if you aspire to be an expert!

Unfortunately, Annika doesn't hold Rolex #1 for too long, because the ranking was launched on February 21, 2006.  Also, Jin Young doesn't have the second longest rein as Rolex #1.

Let's get it straight - I'm referrring to TOTAL WEEKS.

From the LPGA itself in their Summary notes provided to reporters, media, etc. AFTER yesterday's CME:

"Ko has been No.1 in the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings for 114 total weeks, the second most in history behind Annika Sorenstam's 158 weeks."

So yes, @18majors ... you are very quick tempered, going on the attack, usually to justify a silly comment that you made that is full of hyperbole.

Lesson #1 - please grow up and [deleted].

And, you don't even bother to check the facts when the facts are presented to you!

Annika has a total of 60 weeks as Rolex #1, Lorena Ochoa is top with 158 weeks.  Jin Young Ko is tied third with 106 weeks.

Please check the fact below if you're even educated:

Forgive me.  I will assign greater credibility to the LPGA and their records than I will to Wikipedia.   Now, the LPGA is not immune from making mistakes either.  However if there is a retraction from them OR you can compile a properly researched list from the Official Site itself, going all the way back to 2005, then I will be all too happy to review it and accept your findings accordingly.

Thing is, if you try to go back and use the Rolex Rankings system, the names of Sorenstam, Ochoa, etc. do not show up in the player name search.  So how these wikipedia writers gathered that information remains shrouded in mystery.

Merely quoting wikipedia is insufficient.

Look @18majors . . . in nearly everyone of our communications where you did not agree with a statement or opinion from me, you have relied on attacks and insinuations to rationalize your positions to the point of distraction from the underlying topic.  You just did it again today.  You just cannot help yourself - and that's a shame because otherwise you seem like a decent guy, despite what others may say here.

Did it ever occur to you that Grant Boone may also receive the Summary Notes from the LPGA like the ones sent to us?   And yet, I don't see him quarreling with the conclusions drawn by the LPGA either.

No @18majors,  you still have avoided the initial point about the uber effusive or overly hyperbolic opinion or belief presented as a statement of fact "The truth is she'll be #1 for a long time!"

Don't you think Jeeno is calling it too tight to play the LET this week and flying to Mobile for Q-Series with minimal prep.

FWIW...I played The Falls course in 1997....it was so HOT & HUMID on the Labor Day weekend....wife & I bailed playing more golf and headed to beach in Gulf Shores as per a local's recommendation.

Red Neck Riviera is great with white sand beaches.

We also played Cambrian Ridge....a great track...but so far in the rurals.

As for me and my personal opinion, I think that Atthaya is one of those player's whose game will travel and she is used to traveling everywhere to compete.  But, again, golf is fickle.  So we will see if she adjusts to the local course conditions, etc.

I think she is (going to be exhausted by the latter rounds of Qschool)... Just look at Yuka trying to do that - flying to and from Japan -- (forgot what it was prior to Toto), then TOTO, then CME, etc... And I rate Yuka and Jeen to be of similar calibre (eg I'm using their amateur days as basis).  Obviously Yuka struck the "jackpot" in the US Open.   Yuka is "used to these things", so is Jeen, but look at Yuka's results in these tournaments... So yes, long winded answer to a "yes, it's too tight to play" but it is what it is... (now if I could use this heavily worded reply to vote in that poll where I stated the longest reply wins!)

It's about time someone else has spoken up, I did early this year and was handsomely rewarded by being ignored by him. Maybe you'll be so lucky as well.

Atthaya has just had an incredible LET season where she bullied the competition. Very simply, her game is not presently good enough to bully the LPGA. But I am sure she'd be top-10 on form.

Don't forget we are talking about the Q-Series.  But, yeah, she should be top-10 in that provided she adjusts well for course and conditions.

As for the main LPGA tour -- well that is a far different proposition.  I agree with you that she won't have it as easy, but she should be competitive as a rookie.

I'd like to say a word on 18Majors behalf. He/she is a very fine contributor to these boards. It seems a lot of you have a bit of a mini-war going on that has polarised you into camps, making you act unfairly- and overly-zealous to ridicule over minor disagreements of fact. Can you all just get over it?!

Then perhaps as a friend of 18Majors you can pull him aside and have a word with him/her.

Thanks, I appreciate your kind words even though we've rarely conversed.

Don't worry, I won't change and hopefully will continue to contribute!
