Miura Irons What Is Your Favorite Set?

1. Baby blades (the 1957 version)

2. TC 201

Ive had MB 101 and CB57, they were both ok

I bought the baby blades quite early on in golfing career, about 10 years ago. I was playing off 12 hdc and with BB's got to 8. MR M says they are a game improvement club and I tend to agree with him. I wish I had never sold them. I play TC201 now and they are nice.

What makes the tournament blades good for tournaments?

ive tried both of those (TB and MB001s).  Just wondering

The MC 501 are more forgiving than the MB001 with the longer irons. The combo set I tend to keep for the next 10 years or more, hence their limited use. The MB001 set I intend to give to my boy if I can get him to pick interest in the game.

I hope that makes sense.

baby blades, all the way.   HOWEVER, I don't use them much lately because they're rather demanding when one's swing is junk, and dan360's swing at the moment is...hot garbage.

I am on my 3rd set of Miura irons.

First set: tournament blades with PX 6.5

Second set: baby blades with nippon 130X

Third set: tc201 with MMT 125x

Loved all three, looking back, I believe the reason I switch was really a shaft fit issue.  The PX 6.5 required me to load the shaft fully and I had issues with taking something off a shot.  The nippon 130x had a tendancy to hook.

I played the CB 501 for several years and once I got used to them they were good, maybe a bit too good for me in the 4 and 5 iron. Project X 5.0 shafts and Winn grips.

Just purchased a set of TC 201 irons with Steelfiber 95 shafts and pure grips.  In Canada so only on the simulator but 1* stronger loft and playing them 1.5* upright instead of 1.0* on the 501.  They seem easier or more forgiving and maybe 8yds longer for me.  The 4 and 5 irons are much easier for me to hit.

I’m about a 7 handicap and getting old at 56😀

s***, I adore my cb501’s. I can’t afford more Miuras… sooooo pure to hit.

1) MB-001. As good a blade as I've ever tried and I've tried several dozen. It plays in all conditions and the forging is the best Miura has produced. It reminds me a lot of the J33. I just wish I had a reliable source for more of them as I would be perfectly content to play them for the rest of my life.

2) CB-57. One of the best cavity back irons ever made and runs a very close second to the Tourstage Z101 as my favorite all-time iron. Very dependable from all lies and no surprises, just a solid feel and performer. I have two new sets in reserve and again think these forgings from the 1957 series are the best Miura has produced.

Nothing against the newer stuff as I have some TC-201's and MB-101's I'm trying out for next year. We'll see which ones make the bag come next Spring.

Can I ask which clubs made the bag?

Are you still playing the tc201s? Do they still outperform the cb501s? Thanks.

Yes, the MB-101's and TC-201's. The 101's simply because I can't find new 001's. The 201's because they offer slightly better numbers and easier to launch. Having said that, I'd have zero issues returning back to the 57's and will have a decision to make this summer.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

Thanks. So are the 001s far and away the best Miura irons?

I won't say far and away, but they are my favorite blade I've ever played, in over 40 years of golf. The 101's are really solid but there's a subtle difference between the two (and it's mostly a feel thing) that makes me prefer the 001. Kinda like the differences between the MP-29 vs MP-33 or the Tourstage Z-101 vs Bridgestone J40CB. Not a lot, but it's there.

Interesting feedback. Looks like you know your blades and irons. I’m considering either a set of Miura’s or MB32s or 690mb or just moving towards a players cavity like 714/716 ap2s. Do you happen to have any thoughts on those sticks? Thx.

If I were really interested in blades right now, I'd consider 3. The 101's, Blueprints, and P7TW's (I'm admittedly not a T-M iron fan). I prefer the 690's over the MP32's as both are solid choices I'd take over Ap-2's.

I'm not a Miura connoisseur, or a Titleist one, but have always wondered if a Miura veteran had ever tried the Titleist that were made by Miura and if they were held to the same standards

I have hit the titleist limited ones Miura made. Nothing that said oh I need these:

Have played over 10 different miura models, my top 5 in no particular order are:

1. TB-Zero 99.3 pure

2. TB-zero MCW (i am a digger and the sole options were revolutionary to me

3. Miuraism sb-02, I actually ordered the wrong shafts in these but still really enjoyed the look and feel.

4. Miura US Baby blades, I am very harsh on miura US and do not like the brand direction, but these were awesome and better feel than 1957 blades

5(Tie). Both the mb 001 and the 1957 blade had a fantastic feel and great aesthetics, hard to find in good condition anymore and i prefer the customization options of tb zero which just performs better for me.

I never played many of the players irons that most people love, the only one that stood out was the cb2008 which looked and felt great but ultimately went too far. Bought and tried to play the mc501 but outside of the decent looks, the feel was lacking and wasn't very fun to hit. The tc201 are decent but not close to the cb2008 which share a similar aesthetic. cb57 also really fun but i only had them for a short amount of time and did not have my preferred shafts.

I still play tbzero a lot, but have been playing fujimoto ft 1 mb for the past few months while my new tb zero set is being made. I think that the fuji's beat out ever single miura ever made in terms of performance. Easy to hit high long irons, control distance gaps and work the ball. The feel is extremely soft which some may not like, yet it makes the most perfect sound and feel when you hit the ball solid. Most addicting set i have ever played.
