Rhoback thoughts?

Recommended Posts

Won my fantasy baseball league and was thinking about treating myself to a nice quarter zip or hoody.

I've always liked the look of these in the ads ive seen...anyone have opinions?  Would you go with one or another?  Are the materials 'heavier' or 'thinner' or what?  Do they run big or small?

Personally I'm not a fan of the logo. A little too big and prominently displayed for my taste (and that's coming from someone with multiple pups in their house!).

That being said I know a few people who have stuff from them and they seem to say it's fine. No better or worse than the other dozens of similar companies who make similar golf attire (Peter Millar, Vineyard Vines, Dunning, Grayson, Johnnie-O, and so on...)

The hoodie is great, I hate the logo too but the fit of the hoodie outweighs my hatred of the logo

I have 2 hoodies and will pick up another one soon

Rhoback shirts are awesome and my favorite material and collar for golf and everyday wear. Just ordered my first Q-zip yesterday during their 20% off sale, but friends say they love theirs. Some may/may not like the logo, but I've received more compliments and questions about my Rhoback shirts than any others I own.

Can't speak to the Q-zip, but I've gotta say the hoodie is one of the best pullovers I own. Just the right amount of stretch and fit, but also more of a mid-weight feel to it (I feel it will be as warm as my Adidas Cld.Rdy hoodie). Definitely going to get more. Also agree the polos are fantastic as well. One thing I don't understand is the hate for the logo. It doesn't seem any larger than the typical logo (Puma, Nike, Adidas, etc.) that is on so much other golf apparel, if anything I would say the dog logo is less obtrusive than most of those others. Most performance apparel has some sort of logo branding on it, it's the nature of production, but it seems like the dog logo gets a lot more hate for some reason.

I was one of the ones who said they aren't a fan of the logo. For me, it's less about the logo itself (although I don't like it) and more about where they put it.

I don't like chest logos in general (which is why I don't own any Puma, Nike, Adidas, etc.). I can tolerate shirts that put a small logo on the back neck (like PM or Johnnie-O), but Rhoback puts the logo on the chest and then adds that multicolor stipe on the back of the neck also. Just too much in too many place for my tastes.

That's just me though. To each their own.

I've spent way too much on Rhoback the last few years.  Great company started by a good group of people.

-if you haven't already try their t-shirts.  They hold up extremely well in workouts and even though they are expensive they are 20% off right now.

-Their q-zips and hoodies are great, but they are a lighter weight material.  Not something you would wear in really cold temperatures.

-Polos have the best collar out there right now.  Holds up extremely well

-The logo is smaller than most logos you would see on golf apparel (Nike, Adidas, FJ, etc).

Another thing I do like about Rhoback (And it might not matter to many others) is that it can go from office casual to golf to a decent dinner and be completely versatile and look good for all.

I thought of it because I'm wearing my 1/4 zip for work today and got a compliment haha.

You can do that with other stuff but some of the nylon/polyester golf shirts dont look great for work or dinner, some pullovers from other brands are a little too flashy for the office etc. You can pull it all off or maybe not even care at all but some of it just doesnt look or fit right for certain occasions IMO.

Rhoback has a ton of versatility there for me for all sorts of uses.

Have a couple Rhoback shirts. Fit in the body is similar to Peter Millar, but I’ve found the Rhobacks are a couple inches shorter in overall length. I’m 6’3” and can easily tuck in a PM polo, Rhoback is barely long enough to tuck in, let alone stay tucked. Just something to consider for guys on the taller side.

Very tempted to buy a few just for this reason. I've noticed them thru an instagram account I follow that endorses them.. seems to be some good quality stuff but a bit gimmicky and non-traditional (and pricey)

I 100 percent hear you on that. The price was the sticking point for me too haha. As far as non traditional, I have a mix of a couple flashy items and some standard stuff. One of my polos is just a black polo with no pattern etc. Its as traditional as it gets. It fits nice and the quality is top tier though.

How I justified it (And I'm not trying to sell you on it lol) is that I could have spent 50 on a solid Nike dry fit polo and 25 on a cheap old navy work polo. Maybe another 30 on a nice dress shirt for going out. I'm at 100 bucks or close to it, the closet is more full and the quality of some of the items is lacking.

So I decided to try one Rhoback instead and its worked out well. I rarely get compliments in my office about my shirts but I usually get at least one when I wear the Rhoback quarter zip. And I love that I can meet my wife right after work and know what I'm wearing will work fine. Dont have to change on the fly or keep a car dress shirt or a backup polo if I meet the buddies for nine holes haha.

Big fan of Rhoback, after I got over the price.

I will say, I wear them to work, church, dinner and most importantly golf. Good material and they launder and dry very well. Similar to fit to most premium brands RLX, Dunning, Peter Millar, etc. They are a little big roomier than Travis Matthew and I like the material better.

Most importantly, my buddy sent me a promo code (Gravy15) for 15% off. It helps a little bit. ;-)

I have a couple of shirts and like them.  That said, Peter Millar is still by far my favorite.  Closely followed by Rhoback, Stitch, Johnnie-O, Nike, etc.

Been meaning to get a hoodie from them but keep forgetting.  For those that have one, can you wear them over a polo or are they meant to wear by themselves?
