Brooks Koepka to sign with Srixon?

Not sure if you guys have seen Srixon's instagram post this morning, but it appears Brooks will sign a deal to play at least ball, irons, and driver.

Interesting direction for Brooksy who stated he was not interested in signing a club deal anytime soon.  They must have thrown the bank at him.

He was playing the irons, if he plays the driver and the ball, he gets paid. Doesn’t change the rest of his bag. Srixon makes great stuff

He toyed with their stuff this time last year. I guess his mostly crap season has him going a new direction. It’ll be interesting to see what makes the bag.

I'm both really surprised, but not surprised. They have a really good driver and ball. He's been tinkering with driver often enough it seems, and I wonder how long he's been testing the ball. Also wonder if Cleveland wedges will make their way into his bag at some point.

Brooks better step it up...no one will see him play srixon if he keeps current form. He gets about 4 minutes of coverage lately...

Not to mention that between his injuries and schedule he only shows up to about 8 tournaments a year.

I mean, he won the WM, came in 2nd at the PGA, and did fine at the Ryder cup. He'll be fine.

I think what people are suggesting is Brooks’ mouth wrote cheques his game couldn’t cash.

This is great, one of my favorite players and favorite brands. 
 

I remember hearing a while ago that mizuno pretty much made the 919 tours for him.. Will be interesting to see his influence on  the brand next to Hideki

The driver switch seems pretty big to me. He has been in Taylormade for a while now. It looks like he has been using the Srixon ZX7 irons for a little while. However, anytime switching clubs is an adjustment. We will see how it works out for him especially off the tee. 

 

The Srixon Z-Star and Z-Star-XV are great golf balls. The XV is one of my favorites.  Never played or even demo'd their clubs, so I don't know anything about their clubs clubs. I'd like to demo them though.

Yeah, I have never liked any of their drivers either.  Maybe they have a special one for him?

Go look in most srixon bags on tour. It’s all irons and wedges but very rarely the woods. 
 

The guys who don’t need the $ don’t play the woods

I thought they have improved their driver over the last year.  I sorta think this is a good move for Brooks, having everything the same in a tour spec, probably leads to more consistency, outside injury.  Plus I’m sure the money isn’t bad either.

They often play the driver, it's the fairways they don't play. Lowry plays a Srixon driver too. Pretty sure both he and Hideki don't need the money.

They don’t often play the driver or woods.

 

From the bags ive been around on the PGA tour and KF Tour over half the players had everything but the woods.

I’ll add that Creedo77 is a professional caddy…  So I’ll go with what he says 😊 He sees a lot more than we do and talks to a lot more people that know.

Maybe the guys playing TM drivers and such should look at Srixon then.  They seem to be working well.  Maybe it’s the TM tee up money?
