A "Phil Mickelson" Stamped Club -- Right-Handed?

Hi all,

This is my first post -- was surfing on eBay today looking for a new wedge and happen to stumble across this. But unless Phil Mickelson became ambidexterous over-night, I thought this looked a little fishy.

That's hilarious. I see 2 things that are suspicious (in addition to the obvious RH wedge when Phil is a lefty):

1. The Rifle Spinner 5.5 flex. Phil plays a 7.0 or something like that. A 5.5 is way too weak for Phil or any PGA Tour player.

2. Phil has very little bounce on his wedges. This one has 14 degrees.

Looks to me like someone got handstamp happy and called this one a PM special edition. I remember when Titleist released the 681TW irons. There were the same specs as Tiger's, X100 shafts, tour velvet cord grips - logo down, etc. And they were right-handed, not lefty!

Actually, I think PM is ambidexterous :)

Seriously, the text on ebay say:

This is Limited Edition Right Hand Wedge that Titleist released to match the specs that Phil played.

So he doesn't claim it is PM's wedge or a wedge he has played.

Seems legit enough.

Rifle Spinners have different frequencies form Rifle Flighted, Profect X etc. The stiffest flex is 5.5 so it is possible he uses this shaft. Agree about the bounce issue though.

Sorry guys...A little late to chime in here....That is actually my dad selling that wedge. He is zip711 and I am zip7111. The wedge is 100% legit and was a limited edition release done by Titleist. It was supposed to be the same setup as Phil played, but in RH. We at WRX know he didnt play this exact setup, but the general public doesnt. It has tour grooves and was finished at the Iron Factory, so it has a much better finish on it than the retail crappy satin finish out now. Hope this clears things up!

Thanks Steve. Never any doubt. I think lots of times this particular forum helps people learn and that's good.

My dad got the wedge from someone who worked for "Bearing Point" Phil's former sponsor....I guess they gave these wedges out to the employees as a gift.
