JYK also seems to have an affinity for potato chips and Netflix.

https://www.planetsport.com/golf/news/jin-young-ko-wins-tour-championship-lpga-player-of-the-year

She now plans to relax in the off-season.

"I want to keep the golf clubs at a distance, not think about golf and get a good sleep," she said. "Just want to put potato chips in my stomach and watch Netflix."

I think she is very unassuming with her physicality.

It seems from her videos there is a bit of gym work around her schedule.

End of the day her results speak for themselves hey? 😀

One more Asian player that relies on these junk food for their game and I'm sold... We have JYK with her potato chips, Hinako with her salty snacks, and who else?  I certainly don't carry any fruit on the course, unlike Lydia LOL...   (Edit: hmmmm - a thought just occured.... maybe a durian or two will keep opponents at bay and allow me an easy win LOL...)

Anyone know if JYK has a preferred shot shape with her irons?  Looks pretty dang straight on TV (without the benefit of shot tracer).

I believe in the CME broadcast...they said her preferred shot shape is a draw, including her irons.

I think she doesn't like right pins with trouble right...that would mean aiming at trouble to hit it tight to the pin

This ~20minute SBS video = provides a nice commentary of JYK's swings thoughts & preferred shot shape (in Korean, but English auto-subtitles available... i think it's from a few years ago, albeit uploaded Feb2021? JYK = using a Titleist 913 and 915 driver in the video)

It looks most likely will move to 2nd place for the most weeks at World No. 1 soon.

If you're referring to JYK, she is already the player with the second most weeks at No.1.   That's the danger of using wikipedia as a reference 'source' . . . JYK is either at 112 or 114 weeks as the World No.1*

The LPGA cites Annika as No.1 overall with the most weeks at 158 and not Lorena as shown on Wikipedia.   The Rolex Rankings website does not provide any references for either Lorena or Annika when trying to search by player.

* The LPGA cites 114 weeks.  My own count for JYK is 112 weeks at No.1 with her reign interrupted only by Hyung Sung Park by 4-5 weeks and then Nelly from June 28th - October 24 2021 and again as of November 15th.

How many weeks does the LPGA cite for Lorena?

I don't know but I'll take a guess; It's either Karrie Webb or Lexi Thompson.

I'm guessing Lexi.

The RR weren't available until 2006...previously....I'm pretty confident there were times that Webb was the 'best' female golfer...beating out Annika at those times.

I believe Webb was outplaying Annika in 2000...maybe even parts of 1999.

I think it was Webb outperforming Annika that sent Annika on her JUICE program.🤣

Yes, I believe Annika was JUICED...she started showing some facial hair on some close ups pictures.

Annika went from a meek & mild LPGA pro to being the LPGA driving distance leader within about a year or two???

Hmmm....the LPGA started their drug testing in 2008.....then in May 2008...Annika announces her retirement...hmmmm...coincidence???🤣

And before I put on my flame suit....Annika used to be my fav LPGA pro...but I hate when she's commentating on golf at some events nowadays.

They didn't.  In the last tournament champion notes (post CME), they only cited that Annika was no.1 for 158 weeks and JYK No.1 for 114 weeks.  No  reference to Lorena.    I'd be curious if the LPGA has the historical data.

I think they mixed up Annika and Lorena.

According to the Rolex FAQ, the rankings were first published on Feb 21, 2006 and Annika was #1. Between Annika retiring in ‘08 and Lorena becoming #1 in ‘07 — and holding it for quite some time — I don’t think it’s possible Annika was officially #1 for that many weeks. 158 for Lorena makes much more sense.

I looped for a young lady that was paired with Lorena for a round in 2004.  Both of us were in awe of her game.  I wish we'd counted the number of times we said "Wow" during that round.

Jin Young Ko is similar despite playing a different style of golf.  Methodical is an understatement.

Jin Young Ko has unbelievable golf talent.  I wish there was a way this talented lady (and a few others) could compete against the men.  There seems to be no fair way to set it up though.

Hmmmm....maybe JYK really is a "PLAYA" and gets around not only on the courses...but outside the ropes too.

I don't know if these are the same guys???

https://www.instagram.com/p/CVHtZOUFGBY/

I've never seen a player/coach so touchy feely???

The LPGA pros keep their love lives very private.

e.g.) all of a sudden we see Chella Choi in a wedding dress....who would have guessed.
