Are you like me....tired of being taken for a sucker, designed to lure in gullible fanboys who buy into this so-called "feud" between two golfers merely out to pump up the cash-grab payday?  Even "reputable" golf websites are treating this like it's not a Phil Mickelson-produced (that's why he's on the call, folks) "showdown" between two who "really don't like each other."  Now they're saying the "truce" at the Ryder Cup was really a put-on because they "really don't like each other."  For the past week, B & B have been tossing extra-lame hate-barbs at each other.... all designed to juice the ratings -- not to mention the betting handle.  (Don't think that Bryson will get a piece of that action?  Take at look at his cap, boys: "Draft Kings.")  Treating this like some long-overdue heavyweight title fight is more than insulting; it's a joke to take any of the Oscar-caliber animosity seriously.  Hey, if the weather is crappy and nothing else is on, I'll check in just to see how they gin up the fake affronts but if you're expecting anything more than a close-to-scripted reality show, then you're dreaming.  Remember, it's only 12 holes because producers know viewers can only take so much crap.  Even if they "really don't like each other."  (While laughing all the way to the bank.  Right behind Phil.)

Nope, not like you at all. This is entertainment, nothing more. You are in way over your depth here with commentary.

Jack first saw Arnold playing and practicing at a tournament in Toledo in 1954.  They first met in 1958 at a golf outing honoring Dow Finsterwald in Ohio, participating in a golf exhibition round featuring Finsterwald and amateur Howard Baker Saunders paired against Palmer and Nicklaus.  Both Arnold and Jack has stated that they had become friends in the early 1960s.  Jack even saying how gracious he was the first time they both were paired in a final round of a tournament (1963 Bob Hope Classic).  The rivalry was more of Arnie's Army against Jack Nicklaus starting at the 1962 US Open at Oakmont.  From what I have read and stories recounted by both men they were friends early and became close friends while the media and fans created the "unfriendly" rivalry.  The article linked below is a recount of the relationship shared by Arnold and Jack.  It seems to me that both Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus developed and enjoyed a close friendship from the outset of their first meetings, and most certainly from the early 60s and continuing to build through the passing of Arnold Palmer.  What a beautiful friendship these two shared.

Nobody dislike Jack. He like that star athlete on the other team you want to hate…but he too nice lol.  All smiles, talks no crap, just beats you then shakes hands and gets back on the bus.

Smart that way. Jack didn’t talk, no reason to give opponents anything to work with…

“GOING INTO THE playoff, I knew I had to beat Jack with my clubs. Jack wasn't going to give you very much emotionally. He was very hard to read. Knowing where a guy's head is at can help you. I'm a good observer of people and always could tell if a guy was confident, scared, full of b.s. or whatever. It helps when a guy talks a lot by nature. But Jack wasn't much of a talker on the golf course, and off the course Jack made just cursory small talk to most players. He called everybody "pro." It would be, "How you doing, pro?" "Family good?" "That's great, have a nice round today." The kind of stuff that doesn't give you much insight into what he's really about.”

I can't tell you how many shows they, Jimmy Demaret and Gene Sarazen had.....

It's not that serious folks......Just entertainment in my opinion....

About a month ago I watched Sneed - Hogan on YouTube.... it's damn good entertainment. Sentiments are with Brooksy.

Too hard to figure out how to watch this up in Canada. I know it’s 12 holes, is it just straight match play? Or any other gimmicks to it?

I think straight up, but they started playing immediately as soon as the coverage started and they didn’t go over the rules

Is Brooks really this uninteresting?

Neither are my favorite golfers, but at least Bryson appears to understand the assignment.
