Same here. Whenever at the range or on my course in Swansea I get asked what Monte has me working on and if I absolutely nut one off the tee in front of certain other playing  partners a loud shout of MONTEEEEEE reverberates around the course. 😂😂😂

Congrats Monte! Well deserved.

 

I recently bought "Use the Bounce, 2.0" and "Wedges"; both are terrific and are helping my short game already. Monte's explanations are clear and his drills work (although "The Progression Drill" is as promised like torture 😉).

Look at Colorado's list. That should give you some insight into how you "rank" instructors.

 

Spoiler Alert- About 50% of them represent GolfTec. Now what are the odds Golftec actually has 10 of the best 20 instructors in the state? 

 

The lists seem to be a combination of

1. Top Names you have to rank high or your publication is invalid

2. Supernovas that are either hyper talented or hyper visible online

3. Pay to play (buy ads!)

4. Phenomenal instructors

No issue with it except there is no proven method to rank golf instructors other than a vote-driven top 50/100 and those who are "ranked" and advertise their ranking as a way to attract students are well aware of it.

I agree. I should have said it better that it is politics many times. Monte is a dedicated teacher and should actually be higher in the ranking, but that will come in time.

Monte deserves to be on the "list" and has helped me on a few occasions but there are some who don't and IMO, some that are not included (Dan/Chase/Bradley Hughes/Bobby Lopez) that should be.  I have no idea how to properly construct such a list but having other golf instructors vote you in seems a little biased and suspect. Should it be about schmoozing with peers, how many YT/IG followers you have, how many new golf swing terms you invent, or ... how many golfers you have actually helped reduce their handicaps ? I was quite surprised to see some of the billing rates of the top 50. Most of them are way beyond my senior budget and make teachers like Monte & Dan that more attractive as an option for lessons for most.
