Hey Howard, thanks for this.  I am not sure what the measurement degree is if it is converted or not.  The S3 software is a third party that is all done with a machine using lasers, cameras, and torsion on the shaft to figure this out.  For all I know its some sort of mathematically derived formula to figure it out.  At any rate, I grabbed the KBS Tour and Project X 6.0 for comparison here, two of the typically higher BP shafts (to me anyways) and we can see that the KBS is still king when compared directly by the same machine, coming out similar to the 125CW Steelfibre (see above post).

Strange, at 39.00 we have the same specs for KBS Tour, but not for the others
Your DB list PX at 19.87, my DB say 19.550, and thats 1/3 of an inch (8.1 mm) and quite a lot, and tolerances from production is never that high unless we have a "flyer"....the DB im using is not shafts ive measured myself, but a DB from the club makers guild, but NOT free from errors, and this could be one of them.

I am constantly amazed by the knowledge of Mr. Jones and others here on WRX, being a hack builder (put together a few sets for myself with different shafts, changed driver shaft / adapters, etc) there is just so much to this that is just not common knowledge.

Thank you all for your time and sharing this info with us, I do admit a lot of it goes right over my head in regards to the basic things I try to do.

It is still very interesting to read and learn there are so many small details that can be missed and those small details must have a large effect on the final product. This must be the difference between a truly well built set of clubs (for a specific person) and just having clubs to swing.

Ask questions to what ever it might be about club tech og fitting, its the only way to expand your own knowledge, thats why im here, and it will benefit other readers too.

Many of the issues im writing about here is way over and beyond what club maker classes will be able to educate about, its simply not time enough, and many of this schools dont have that knowledge either if you asked for it.

My Work shop and fitting studio was the most advanced in Europe, so all legal modifications possible on Golf clubs was available, and my customers was PGA and LPGA players, PGA swing trainers and club pros, plus elite amateur players. (HDCP limit of 10 for access due to capacity, since i only took 2 clients a day as the max.)

So its was a full menu, stationary Tour van with clients from all over Europe, and then you have to deliver top level services all the way. I also had my own club fitting and club making classes where one of them runs his own True Temper Performance Fitting Center today (Copenhagen Denmark), others work as club fitters for different OEMs, (Titleist, Cobra and Callaway)  and some of them was PGA Club pros who came to expand their own skills and knowledge.

Today im retired, but still loves to help others on all levels, like ive done here for almost 12 years now, but im not the only one with knowledge on this level who is available for help in this part of the forum.

That is a fantastic history, thank you for sharing that.

While I am just hanging onto to a 9 cap (at 63 next month) and depending on how the body feels cannot even do that justice some days the whole process of club building is become more interesting to me. I have a good friend that is a long standing Certified builder (40 years I believe) that has taken many classes and builds only component Equipment (wishon, Alpha, etc) and does club work for the local college kids (Florida Southern) a lot of times free of charge. He is thinking of retiring and I may buy his shop equipment and set up a better shop for myself and if I learn enough to help others as a hobby.

He has offered to teach me what he can and what little I know I learned from watching him, maybe it will happen if things work out. He always says he is not in for the money but for the joy of seeing someone play well and that seems right to me, break even and enjoy the process.

Had a shaft built with a Titleist tip the tip did not have the stopper at the bottom of the hosel so epoxy ran down into the threads so I couldn’t put the head on.  Also it was cut the wrong length. They fixed it but it was pretty disappointing.
