Mizuno JPX 921 Forged, T22 Wedges - Thoughts?

Hi- Just was fit/ordered for a set of Mizuno JPX 921 Forged and TT22 copper wedges on 11/30/21. Just was looking for people who currently game them and their thoughts, like dislike etc. I was playing 2019 PXG 0211s.

This was my first time getting professionally fit in person and it was an awesome experience. With the PXG's I was playing TT Elevate 95g in stiff (over the phone fitting). After the in person fitting I was put into KBS $ Taper 130 xstiff shaft. As soon as the fitter made the change to the heavier and stiffer shaft my dispersion tightened up instantly and they felt great. It was safe to say with my club speed, my old shafts were completely inappropriate. Can't wait for the new irons to arrive.

I thought I was going to get into some 921 Forged and ended up into the HM Pro's.  Honestly couldn't really feel much difference in feel and the Pro's gave me a little added distance that I have been losing through the years.  The Pro's don't spin as much, but I actually hit the ball pretty high and a pretty steep descent so I can get away with a little less spin and height. Oh, by the way, the irons perform very nice.  Added some T22 Coppers about a month ago, really only had a chance to play them a few rounds.  They feel phenominal, and can hit the same shots I had with my Zipcore's.  The feel is the biggest thing.

I have 921 Forged for about a month now. I love them. My first set of irons I was fitted for actually. I still need to get used to them but every I love them. My only complain is I am not hitting the PW and GW the way I want but that is again me have to get use to the clubs rather than the clubs fault. because 4-9 is everything I want.

I do have an order on some custom T22 wedges but because I got the 125 Modus Wedge shafts they are not expected to come in until Christmas.

The whole lineup is great. I played one round with a set of 921 Hot Metal Pros and I was shocked at the distance. Those things are rocket launchers. A lot of love on WRX for Srixon ZX5 irons, but if you want something similar without the wide v-sole, Mizuno has it.

for sure.  during my fitting the ZX5s were right up there with the forged (2nd choice baed on numbers)very similar numbers and dispersions. it came down to feel for me.

i went in to get the 921 forged and came out with the 921 HMP.  Scratch golfer, but frankly my game is going and I couldn't feel a difference so went with the more forgiving irons.  I've very happy with them.  I went 4-SW in the 921 since I only use those clubs for full shots.  I use a raw Vokey T grind for everything inside 90 yards.  Now I only have 1 wedge to replace every year from grooves going.  Make my life easier.

I love my 921F and T20 wedges! I’m going to order a set of the T22 wedges in January. In my bit of testing, the wedges are pretty much interchangeable. Both look amazing, feel amazing and spin pretty high for my shallow swing.

I also opted for a combo set of JPX 921 Forged 4-6 and Tour 7-PW.  The Forged while slightly larger looking than the Tours more than make up for their looks in feel and playability.  I was always a pretty good ball striker with my longer irons (4-5), but the JPX Forged long irons are really easy to hit, launch high and long.

    • Sony Open Pics from January 11, 2022 Part 1
I was able to get out to the Sony Open today to take a few pics.  I guess due to Covid precautions they kept the spectators pretty far from the players.  Also due to camera restrictions they've put in place, I wasn't able to bring the big lens like I normally do. Hopefully they'll ease up on the ropes and I'll be able to get more pics tomorrow!
