I have that same Elite trainer. Pretty cool, lightweight, and portable. However, couldn't  figure out how to keep the tire rubber from collecting on the rollers.

Ha! Thanks. I read a bunch of reviews but didn’t notice that complaint.

 

But, apparently it’s an issue, this thread mentions it.

 

I saw elsewhere that you should clean the rollers after each ride. I’ll try that. Was it a problem as far as using them long term?

Am I the only one who can’t figure out how on earth that machine is used ?  
 

looks like something we’d use to roll out long steel tubing , to hold it level while feeding into a bender.

It's for riding a real bike indoors.  Some swear by them for winter training and some swear at them when they launch off the rollers.

 

I tried one at a bike show many years ago and quickly figured out I'd rather ride in the rain than to trust it, but that's me.

lol, let’s see how it goes. I’m just planning to use it 20-30 minutes. on the alternate days I don’t do me hiit workouts. I actually may place it in this little hallway so I can’t even fall. I just can’t ride outside when it’s under 40-45*, no fun. 

 

Bit I’m sure I’ll figure out a way to crash anyway 🤣

It can be a little annoying because it can make some high frequency noise and vibration, but it may not be that big of a deal for most. However, I never cleaned the roller with alcohol, so I'm likely more of the issue.  Right now, that Elite trainer is just gathering dust though, but not because of the tire rubber issue. I just prefer my other trainer to spin mindlessly rather than balance. I really only use a trainer for warmups and to get loose, not for heavy workouts. I ride mountain bikes outside a few times a week for heavy workouts, so that trumps the trainers.

Thats just a minor tip over. We all do those at first. More memorable is full launch at 90 rpm !
