Sim 2 Guys

Recommended Posts

I own a Ventus Black and Blue, Tensei 1K, VA Nemesis, RDX Smoke Blue TX, and the stock RDX Smoke Black. Guess which shaft won out…the stock RDX Black. The RDX works better for my swing than any shaft I own or tested. You best course of action is to get fit, but don’t sleep on the stock shafts.

Played it most of the year, recently changed to the TSi2 but in the SIM 2, I had the HZRDUS Smoke Green. Longest driver I had owned but had to be fully on it, the TSi2 allows me to get a little sloppy, or just tired late on in the round and get away with it.

Driver = Callaway Smoke-Ai Max-D

3 wood = Callaway Smoke-Ai Max HL

3 Hybrid = Tour Edge Exotics C722
Irons = 4-PW Miura KM 700
Gap Wedge = Miura HB 50*

Sand Wedge = Taylormade MG2 56*

Putter = LAB DF3

Ball = TP5x pix

I was fitted wasn't good experience but was fitted for tsi3 and hulk shaft. I now have tsi4 same hulk shaft and the smoke blue rdx that it came with.

LAGP AXS Blue 6x is an amazing shaft but I have the OG Sim Max. I have found the AXS blue to have more feel than ventus black or Diamana Ltd 70tx and still very stable in the tip like both of those shafts.

If you’re playing a TSI4 Hulk combo I assume you are a high launch high spin player. That’s an extreme setup and I doubt the SIM 2 will be low enough spin and a shaft might not do the trick either. Maybe something like a Trono or Ventus black would work, but unless you’re trying to change things up, you’ll have a hard time finding anything similar to your current setup.

How many guys are D head guys?

Down here in Myrtle Beach there are basically zero D heads and the PGASS said TM has no more … I thought that was interesting

Testing both at home in Canada earlier this fall I found the D to only be slightly DRAW biased but it took out right misses completely

I’ve tried several shafts in my SIM2 Max and MaxD 9* heads. In order of best results for my average 110mph driver swing all playing length 44.5”.

Accra TZ6 65M4 tipped 1/2” (gamer)

Fuji Speeder 661TR S

Fuji Ventus Red 6S tipped 3/4”

Fuji Atmos TS Blue 6S

MRC Diamana ZF 60S

MRC Tensei AV Blue 65S tipped 1/2”

 Could play any of them as they all feel amazing…but the Accra seems to be the most stable of misses and wild swings for the fences. I like that insurance and the results…TR was close but felt a little less smooth.

I went from the Sim2 to the D head. It is not crazy draw but my right misses are not nearly as drastic.

When I had one, I had a RDX black, Atmos black, my old Speeder 661 and a Tensei white and the Atmos as the winner.  However I couldn't control it like I wanted to with any of them so I hopped on the G425 train.

Dr. Sim2 8° w/ RDX blue 60 6.5

3 Wood. Sim2 15° and 19° w/ Diamana 70x

Ui. Callaway x forged ut 21° w/ dg120 x100

4 to GW. Mizuno Pro 223 w/ dg120 x100

SW and Lw. 54° and 58° Milled grind raw w/ dg s200

Putter. Odyssey OG 1ws, 33 inches

Ball. Taylormade TP5x

I'm honestly just one of those guys who likes options. Yes high launch and spin.

With hulk and smoke blue rdx in my tsi4 I have around 2100 spin.

I was looking at lagolf shafts

Also I started golf with a 2016 m1 and then tsi3 now tsi4.

Kinda wanna give taylormade another run
