Royal Midsize Pistol Putter Grip

Recommended Posts

I have and just like their regular grips (I love the Royal LinkTech) Cord it's a sleeper.  I would say it's on the slightly larger side of midsize.  Great feel however as it's a softer compound for me the sharper edges and flat back made it easy to keep hands square.   The only negative is that it's a heavy grip being all rubber but if you are using it on a heavy head then it's good.  I tried it on a head which was only 345g and it made it too light.  But if I had a 360+g head it would be my grip of choice.

Thanks.  My putter length is on the longer side anyways, so a heavier grip would help me bring down the swing weight anyways.  I think I'll order a couple and give em a try.  I currently use a Superstroke GT Tour or a ping PP58 midsize grip.  Any clue as to how that compares size wise?

Please take this with a grain of salt as due to COVID I haven't really been in a golf store in a long time. I used to routinely go into Golf Galaxy just to try out different putters but the one near my job closed and the other required a special trip.  So my memory may be a little off since I didn't really compare even on same day.

From what I remember, I would say it's slightly larger than the PP58 and in between a Supertstroke 1.0 and a 2.0.  If this helps (measured the last one I have):

  • Height at the butt of the grip before the end cap is about 1.25"
  • Height at middle is about 1"
  • width of flat part in middle of grip is about 7/8"

Really solid option. I have it on a 35.5" putter with 355g head and feels great.  Does feel a bit plastic/synthetic rubber feel at first but that wears away with use.

Size wise it is smaller/ narrower than the gt 1.0. Prob closer to the GT tour but the shape has more depth front to back if that makes sense?  Less of ridge and more round on the back half as well. Similar to the Pp58 mid but with slightly sharper edges on the front side.  Actually feels like the old Iomic mid size with the sharp edges but in a larger size.  Fills the hands, great feedback without being too large or oversize. Plus it's super cheap and plain black.  Bonus! I can try to post a cpl pics tmrw in the day light if you would like?

Thanks trying2scratch.  Good description.  It being plain black was a big selling point for me too.  Not a fan of all the flashy designs.  And yeah, pics would be helpful.

Have to agree.  The Link Tech Cord and regular Link Tech have become my grips of choice.  Fantastic grips and very durable.  I also love that they have reduced taper which is something not advertised (I didn't learn it until I read the reviews/questions).
