P770 overall.

Feel? ZX7

Distance? P770

Looks? Toss up

Forgiveness? P770

In this category though dont forget to try the Apex 21 Pro, Honma TR20P, and the Mizuno HMB or new 225 also.

Zx7 personally as I prefer the way it looks and that it's a fully forged head. Nothing beats the Japanese forgings for me.

If I had to pick it would be ZX7, purely because I really dislike the idea of a hollow head/thin face in a package with blade-like MOI. Too demanding for me.

I’d go with the zx7, but you might be better comparing the zx5 to 770 as they’re a bit more similar.

and in that comp I’d go with the zx5.

As many have posted, its a bit personal especially in the scoring clubs as the ZX7s are forged CB vs the ZX5.  I gamed P770 CBs since they came out which are similar in feel to a ZX7 being 1025 forged.  I am experimenting with the new 770s now as I already have 790s for the mid irons and am curious if there is really any little bit of ball speed help or not.

When striking well the forged CB is a joy to hit. But when I am off a bit, I am curious what level of help it offers me.

The new P770's pass the looks department as they are almost identical from top line to the older CBs.

If cross shopping these new, I agree you have to at least look at the new 225 as well, or blend a 225/223 set 🙂

Probably closer to the P7MC

Absolutely. The ZX7 is the best Srixon can do with what is essentially a single-piece forging (I know there's a tungsten plug in the 3-7, but still) while balancing forgiveness and performance. A club that can be good for solid ballstrikers yet also be adopted by tour pros. The P7MC is absolutely Taylormade's most comparable product in that regard.

Off-topic, I also think the ZX7 is a good comparison against the MP20 MMC. The 223 seems to take a step away with the slot behind the face. It's also remarkable what Mizuno has been able to do with the MP20 MB in terms of infusing forgiveness, and if I were in the market I'd be keeping my eyes on the 221 to advance that and because of the sole changes. Wilson's staff model is also far easier to play than they "should" be.

None of this is similar to the P770, not that that makes the P770 bad or inferior. It's just way different.

Kinda surprised some are saying the 770's are hotter.

I thought the ZX7s were hotter.

Having owned the P770 and every Srixon 7 up to the 785, I have only demoed the ZX7 but this one isn't even close for me, it's the Srixons ALL day.  Better turf interaction, more consistent distances and I think they are more forgiving.  P770 do look great though!

I got more distance from the ZX7 than I would expect for the loft, but the only thing I think that means is that I'm finding the sweet spot more consistently. Maybe it's a CG thing, maybe it's visually inspiring, or maybe it's just a better shaft/head pairing, but I think the subjectivity of one or the other being "hotter" depends on the unique golfer.
