Happy New Year. 'Should be another interesting one. The new class of rookies looks good, and we should have a few players battling for World #1.

Interesting!

  1. Nelly Korda                   9.75
  2. Jin Young Ko                 9.71
  3. Lydia Ko                        5.79

Lydia and other players need to win the first five consecutive tournaments to get into conversations.

Maybe Lydia could do it, or Sei Young Kim, or Nasa, Minjee?  What's your thought?

A lot depends on how Nelly and Jin Young start their seasons. If they come out of the gate cold or luke warm then it's possible a few players could creep into the conversation.

Nasa finished the season strong, and seems to start hot.

The PROC aren't that dumb.🤣

They always knew Muni would be a POSER...she was never WAGR women's #1, nor USGA Women's Am champ .....nor USGA Jr. Girls Am champ etc, etc.

Crazy Lucy Li at one time a while ago might had been a $20M Yani offer candidate....but now that Egghead is gone....Lucy no longer has a mentor to guide her and now she's at 14:59 minutes of her 15 minutes of FAME.

Hopefully Lucy got an under the table offering from Tim Cook because her Breyer's Ice Cream endorsement...well that ship has sailed quite a while ago.

If the Zhangster doesn't have Ruby Chen on speed dial...then she needs guidance ASAP.

The Death Star awaits Rose.

FWIW....my Mom (RIP) is Rose too.

She doesn't seem quite as passionate about her golf as she is about F1 . . .or about commercial endorsements.   Sort of the thing that Virgina Wade(?) was cautioning Emma Radacaneau about.

Muni need not worry about $$$...supposedly Dad has a portfolio of restaurants??? and hotels??? in China.

Muni will be a future Chinese version of the lady below...just sayin.🤣

My unpopular opinion is that there will be more Thai winners on tour in 2022 vs Korean winners, even if JY wins 5x she only counts as a one time winner.

Gotta figure both Jutanagarns can win, Patty T, Atthaya, Pajaree, Jasmin and maybe a vet like Meechai is who had her best year last year will get her first win on tour. Phatlum is overdue for a win too, she may have the most active starts on tour without a win!

The future #1 of golf is going to be

I know you prefaced it with it being an unpopular opinion . . . but I think you're being a bit overly optimistic with the Thai players.  The ones that have good chances of winning are (imho): -- Patty T., Ariya, Pajaree and Atthaya.  Mo, is on the cusp and she could win, but she is at a bit of a disadvantage with her lack of distance compared to the "Tigers of Thailand".    And the same goes for Jasmine.

But frankly, I would love to see both Waen and Mo win!  They have been carrying the flag for Thai golf for several years now, especially Pornanong (Waen).

In hindsight it's not that overly eager since this happened last year, so I'm doubling down! (counting the sisters win in the team event) Only Hyo Joo, Lyds, and JY won during the season.

In Gee was unlucky to win last season as she was I believe 2nd in the Vare scoring with JY and Nelly DQ'd.   Lee6 had numerous top 10s.

I do like Thitikul.

It's one thing playing well as an Am and on the LET...but it's ANOTHER thing playing well on the LPGA.

I need to see Thitikul's play for a minimum 18 months on the LPGA before I'll know whether she's capable being a RR #1.

I would like to see Thitikul improve her putting...especially some likely, nervous putting when contending for a title late in the final rd...we saw it in 2021 at the Honda and Evian.

Dumbo is just not really contending to chase down a title in the past couple of years.

It's disappointing to see a popular pro like In Gee...not to win more than 3 times.

Only two top 10 in majors in the last 5 years.

Considering her pedigree....I think So Yeon Ryu is an underachiever with only 6 LPGA titles....it should really only be 5 titles if not for a Korean waiting a day to email the LPGA about Cheatin Lexi in 2017.🤣

Lucky 6 is a tough one to figure out....one would think she would had at least 3 more titles on top of her 2019 USWO win.

Hmmm...Brooke Mathews & Gina Kim are participating in the PXG College Showcase.

So if and when they announce their intent to be LPGA playing pros...will they be sporting a PXG endorsement?.....they were right beside Parsons.

Kaboom Baby!

Bob get RID of Christina Kim...nuff said.

EDIT....they just did a close up of Gina's bag...PXG irons & wedges....SIM headcovers.

Yes these ladies need to be commended for acclimating themselves to a new culture, learning and understanding a new language, whilst maintaining elite performance.  I know In Gee has mentioned she suffered from mental health issues while rising to stardom and the pressure that comes with, now she has the target on her back so the mental preparation in that alone is challenging. All while adapting to a new world but she seems to have gotten over that now and back to playing great again as reflected by her stats last season. I think she got a top 10 in 1/3 of her starts as well so that's nothing to snuff at either!

6 could/should have won the Evian but I'm glad Minjee won her first major but more mad that Yealimis caddie told her to lay up on 18. Could have had a 3 way playoff!

A Lim finished out the season strong.  A lot of these ladies are playing these courses for the first time naked so the next go round may yield more positive results.

Su Oh needs to win this year. She deserves it.

At least So Yeon won the Kia Motors on the KLPGA so she can lean on that for a while.

I wouldn't be surprised if a KLPGA star wins the US Open this year. Hae Ran Ryu would be my early pick!  Hee Jeong Lim can win too, I'm sad she played marvelous bogey free 72 holes and JY did what she does best. That's why I call her the Dream Killer.  In fact I'm more impressed with the KLPGA stars, they dominated the BMW and probably the Orange Life if/when that is scheduled next.

    • In-hand photos of 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus, Stealth 2, Stealth 2 HD drivers + fairways woods
Check out our front page launch stories here and here.

What you need to know: For the first time, carbon is the most prevalent material by volume in a TaylorMade driver, and more carbon equals better performance, says the company. Last year, TaylorMade debuted a 60X Carbon Twist Face. With TaylorMade Stealth 2, engineers are bringing carbon to more of the golf club — and unveiling a new-and-improved Carbon Twist Face in the process. Stealth 2 Plus (low spin, most workable) Stealth 2, and Stealth 2 HD (draw bias, high launch, most forgiving) drivers make up the Stealth 2 family.

      Stealth 2 HD

What you need to know: Breakthrough movable weight technologies and versatile designs are the hallmarks of the 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 fairway woods. Stealth 2 Plus is branded as “three fairway woods in one” owing to the unique performance characteristics afforded by the 50-gram sole weight. Stealth 2 features a slightly lower profile 3D carbon crown than Stealth. This moves CG down and away from the toe with more weight in the rear of the club for higher launch and MOI. Ultra-high MOI Stealth 2 HD features an oversized 200cc head and low-profile sole, creating an easy-to-hit, draw-biased club.
