I'm going with yes.  Having followed her on social media for a couple years she definitely has the drive to go along with the talent.  For someone so young she's super focused.  Just needs to stay away from swing coaches and other hangers on.

Of course we all know golf is a fickle mistress (right Bianca?) but I like her chances.

So tough to judge a 16 year old, especially playing on the LET where the talent isn't exactly as good as the LPGA. She can certainly pound the ball for a 16 year old. With any luck she'll be bound for the LPGA in 2024.

Amen @ChronicSlicer.  Preach it.........

Once in a generation do we see a true "Next" come along.  We've been fortune during this cycle to have seen two teenaged prodigies actually come to fruition (Lydia and Brooke).  I've watched too many others flame up and flame out and always due to external pressure more than the lack of a solid golf game.

Add Jeeno to the mix!

I certainly hope so.  I'm holding judgment on how she sustains that performance in years 2 and 3.  She had a great rookie year on tour.  Let's see how she does once the spotlight is on her and the grind of 45 weeks a year on the road start setting in.

I think she is seasoned enough traveling as a youth + full season on LET prior to joining LPGA. The grind will wear on her at some point but right now she is slump proof.

I wouldn't say any player is slump proof, as practically every top player in recent memory had had his/her share of slumps. The higher they climb, the harder they fall. Plenty of former #1s have had rough patches.

That said, she does seem very even keel. She's been playing at a high level for years, and doesn't seem to have any glaring weaknesses. Of course injury has a nasty way of derailing careers. Sigh.

I typically keep a handful of final rounds in my DVR to watch during the off season. I'm currently watching the Gainbridge, and Lydia and Danielle are tied for the lead. I honestly forgot who won this, so don't tell me! Lol.

I noticed that in her preshot routine Lydia was taking the club back on the normal path, rather than an exaggerated lift to the outside. Not sure when that changed this year, but it seems to have worked. I started doing it a few weeks ago, and it sure seems to help. I tend to take the club back too far inside, and swing out to right field. The move seems to encourage a steeper swing.

Jerry was on the course with the final group of Lydia, Danielle, and Celine. 'Miss him.

I don't have a lot of hair left, but I'm going to pull out what little remains if I hear another announcing crew member state how creative a player is around the greens. Lol. If a player plays a bank shot off the grandstands, or hits a bunker shot backwards over their head, then I'll agree that they're being creative. Putting with a hybrid from a closely mown area is not being creative. It's a smart play.

I couldn't agree more @Argonne69.  Seve was creative, Lydia is consistent, the rest just play shots that give them the highest probability of success.

I too miss Foltzy on the coverage, but glad he was able to cash a big check.

Congratulations to Nelly Korda for a stupendous performance at QBE Shootout!  She played men's tee and she teamed up with Denny McCarthy to finish T5 out of 12 teams.

Lexi and Maverick McNealy was 3 shots back and finished T10.

I think it will be so more fun to watch, if it's Men\Women team for all..

I watched a little, but didn't see either Nelly or Lexi take any shots.   I didn't know they played from the same tees as the men.

Damn!

I’m not a diehard LPGA follower so I don’t know all the cutesie nicknames.  Who is Jeeno?

Jeeno =Atthaya Thitikul. Most Thais have acquired shorter nicknames (I believe it’s due to their formal names = can be quite long!)

“Thitikul goes by the nickname “Jeen” or “Jeeno,” and even uses it in her Instagram handle: @jeeno.atthaya.” (Source: https://golf.com/news/atthaya-thitikul-5-things-to-know/)

IMO, unlikely Inbee will play anything more than a handful of tournaments/ceremonial rounds, if any.  We may have already seen the last of her.

I agree.

I can't think of a full time mom golfer from South Korea, including players with Korean descent.  Michelle Wie West played a handful of tournaments as a mom, but it's few and far in between.

Maybe Hee Young Park will be the first one; we'll see.

Delete this post 😂. Inbee will return and win a Vare trophy, Player of the Year and three majors before she retires. Inbee just needs to make a challenge for herself. When she 1st considered retiring she decided she wanted to win every major again. Now the challenge is to win every major as a mother.

Possible, I guess we'll see.

However, I believe she kept playing because of the absence of something else (which is now there).  More likely than not she will turn the page and move on to another stage of life.  But I could be wrong...

She doesn't hit it far enough now and I suspect she knows it.

“LPGA does have a beneficial maternity leave policy. Mothers have two years after giving birth to return to the tour and keep their present status for 12 months after returning.”

@iBanesto Any premonitions wrt JYK retiring?

Just watched it.

I knew it would be Joo Kyung Kim before he arrived since I've seen him on J. Ko's channel when he was still a teenager.

Retirement: Personally I don't think she is going to retire any time soon especially before 30. She has mentioned she wants to win the US Open and I'm sure that will still motivate her.

Although she has been very philosophical in her last few videos, I feel she is still adjusting to being injured and not being able to compete at her high expectation. I can only assume when there was point when you can shoot under in every round to now playing with pain and finish at the bottom of the leaderboard, that can only negative feelings.

I'm sure she will be back if that wrist injury heals.
