nike t-40 tour vs. tm v-steel vs. nike ignite t-60

help with a new 3 wood

i am looking at getting a new 3 wood. my 3 wood has turned on me and i want to find something easy to hit off the deck. currently have a nike t-40 tour with a rifle 6.0 steel shaft. i'm considering the nike ignite t-60 and the tm v-steel. i am hearing a lot of good things about them, and you can pick them up real cheap right now. i'm a club ho, but more a bargain club ho. i'm looking at steel in both. i wasn't impressed with the speed step shaft in my nike t-40 tours, but i've got the speed step in my pro combo utility iron and its great so i don't know if they made improvements or changed it in the last few years. the tt dg lite sounds nice in the v-steel. i might also reconsider reshafting whatever fairway wood i get with a aldila nv-95 (i use a nv-75 in mydriver).

i would appreciate any comments of these woods, mainly which is easier to hit off the turf.

They are both nice clubs. I personally prefer the Nike due to its sound and feel, which is a bit less metallic than the V-Steel. I have also found the Nike easier to elevate due to its weighting. However, it has a considerably deeper face than the V-Steel or the T-40, so it is intimidating for some to hit off the deck. I have found that if you simply trust that it will get airborne, the tungsten weighting will do the rest. It is a great design - excellent off the tee and easy to get in the air off the deck. I have also found that the Nike sits square to slightly open, in contrast to the V-steel, which sits square to slightly closed.

well, i'm going to find out the answer to this question next week. i picked up a slightly used t-60 last night on ebay, and a brand new v-steel real cheap today. yah to be a club whore. i'm getting both with steel shafts. also, i'm going to shorten the shafts on all 3 clubs. checking my nike t-40 tour and the shaft is 43". The other two come 42.5". i'm gonna go with 42" in all three. it should be a good test.

also, thinking of trying a taylormade rescue dual tp 14* as an option too. just have to see if i can find a good deal on one now. i'll report back when everything arrives and i can test it.

was just at edwin watts. this quest could take some interesting turns. now i like what i've seen in the t-60 and the v-steel (final verdict will be in when i can play them on the course). was looking heavily at the tm rescue dual tp and like what i see. as i looked i found something intrigueing, the nike sq 3 wood. now the driver (max not tour) is hideous, but the 3 wood was wicked awesome. wouldn't let me hit it, but with it have a very low profile, sits very square, and low low center of gravity, i believe this could be great off the deck and land softly on the green. really wish a demo day (outside on the range, not the one going on at golfsmith inside) would come around soon.
