From another perspective, I thought TXG was using the Club Conex adapters for their fitting?

 

If that's the case now that TXG is now owned by Club Champion, I gee-whiz, I wonder whats going to happen to all the connectors and with the lawsuit between Club Conex and Club Champion....

Great move fro them and I'm sure the payout makes sense for more golf on the schedule, young family, and whatever else is Ians plight.  I would think something in the deal that keeps them on for at least a year as is etc..I wonder what happens to Matty Boy?

Matt had a very succesful marketing and production consultinig business on his own, he kept that up even with his duties to TXG.  Where it stands now, I'm not sure.

If I remember correctly, the contest was Pinehurst trip and shaft retrofitting of the winners' current clubs, not a full bag fitting like the first contest.

 

So limiting it to one vendor makes it feel like kind of a throwaway, rather than a fitting from arguably the best in the business.

CC is just going to use TXG as it's video arm for content, so that they have something like 2nd Swing does with Thomas.  That way there's no investment into starting up a video production.  

 

Obviously there could be more to it from the fitting aspect, but I see that as the chief purpose here. 

 

Million dollar acquisition of a fitting company for their YT videos averaging around 50k views? 
 

This tarnishes the TXG brand for me.

That's exactly what I said in different words. The shaft retrofitting was always by VA as it was sponsored. 

 

You'd think the Pinehurst trip would be pretty damn good without any added bonuses.

Hope this doesn’t effect their YouTube channel and reviews.  Club Champion experience for me was terrible as they were only interested in up selling me…

Great for Ian of course (my assumption).  Big loss for us who enjoyed the content he and Matty created on Youtube.  The testing videos just simply will not be even close to the same.

Really unfortunate to see this.  The YouTube channel will not be the same.  I really hope nothing but the best for Ian and TXG; and hope they can keep some creative control over their direction.  Only time will tell.

For sure! As someone currently planning a Pinehurst trip for this fall with similar itinerary (2, 4, TBD third course, and Cradle), not having to pay for that would be a huge win hah.

 

After watching the YouTube Q&A and the announcement of Matt's departure, really intrigued to see how this evolves.

The part that really pisses me off is the Hackers site having to steal the thunder of the announcement. While I am not a CC fan at all and wonder about this arrangement, I do hope Ian got paid handsomely. Still them having to "scoop" Ian and the TXG boys robbing them of announcing the way they would like is pure scum and continues to absolutely verify my initial impressions of the site owner. He is pure trash and will continue to be seen as such by many and I will do what I can to help others to see that.

I can’t stand Club Champion, and now I’ll like them even less haha.  
 

The chemistry Ian and Matty had made the channel what it was, to me at least.  Will be a lot harder to watch now.

I’ll be curious on how the YT content will evolve (outside of Matty leaving, sad).  The fitting philosophies couldn’t be more different TXG (and True Spec, whose owner Ian knows/some relationship with) are very head driven, shaft secondary.  CC is all shaft first, head second.  Hope Ian gets to stay true to his belief but I’m sure the check was not small.
