Lauderdale or Miami Beach

Looking to stay in Miami Beach or Las Olas (Lauderdale) while playing courses down there. Heading with spouses; the fellas golfing while trying to keep the girls entertained while we are out. They're looking to beach, day drink, and shop. Which area do you recommend? Also where do you recommend to golf in those areas? Thx.

For the gals, I'd recommend Miami Beach.  For the guys I'd recommend Lauderdale.  Not much in the way of good golf in Miami.  

 

I will say that if you're willing to spend some money you should be able to find what you need for the gals in Lauderdale.

 

Jacaranda is a good spot.  You can also go to Osprey Point in Boca.

Osprey is only good for one round in the afternoon as the earlybirds suck up all, ALL of the early tee times because they can reserve father in advance than public. If that works for you, great.

 

I played Jacaranda (East) Monday. Worth it.  Had the course to ourselves and while spendy, I'll take that on a fun course, and no one to a) wait on in front of us and b) pushing us. 

 

If you're between Miami and Ft L, look at Boca Golf and Racquet club. Now public. We played 2 rounds Tuesday and the course is in great condition, and fun. Watch out for 18th.

Have you played the West Course at The Jac? I am headed down this weekend, and will be playing both

I picked to stay at Las Olas in Laudy. I've looked on here and this isbwhat I have come up with:

 

Plantation preserve,  colony west, eagle trace, Pembroke lakes, osprey point. 

 

Thoughts? Looking to play easiest to hardest. Jacaranda is too pricey as we are looking to stay at 100 or under.

Going to be honest, if you can swing it I would stay at Turnberry in Aventura. You're splitting the difference between Lauderdale and Miami Beach. You're about 10 minutes from Sunny Isles Beach to get on the water from the resort. Oh... and the resort has two of the best golf courses Miami has to offer.
