TXG had a test of the T100, ZX7, 921 Tour and the TCB (maybe one more). They bent all of them to the same loft and the performance  was basically the exact same on center strikes. T100 had a touch more ball speed than the rest and the T100 and ZX7 were noted as a little more forgiving than the others but bottom line is all these clubs kind of do the same thing. I have been REALLY trying to stay away from the T100 but damn that is a good looking club at address with a fair amount of forgiveness for the category. I have a fitting scheduled in the fall when my swing is at its best and I have a fear the T100’s will win out!!! Hoping I have next gen  Srixon or jpx tours to try out but I seriously doubt it

I hit the T100’s and I do like them, but I’m a Mizzy fanboy, I just don’t love the 921T’s.

T100 looks great at address but I don’t really like it from the back. The bottom half is thick af to me.

srixon zx7 is best looking of all, IMO.

I think they all look good, but the bottom half of the T100 and where they hid tech to allow it to play the way it does in such a small footprint goes against your thought of “thick Af…” there’s nothing thick about it unless you’re comparing it to the MB or the 221.

True. My wording was lazy.  I think it looks like it is thick.  In all actuality, it’s not very thick, but when you look at the top line then peek at the bottom half, it’s not the same look as looking at the top of the ZX7 then looking at the bottom half. If that makes sense.

I wanted to play mizuno really bad. I honestly think the 919 and 921 forged felt awful. I wanted them because they looked great, but never liked the feel.
A few years ago I hit the 850 forged. Best feel I had ever felt. The newer ones not so much.

i got fit for new clubs this February. Mizuno 223 ran second but they would have been my top choice. I believe the 223 will go down as one of their best irons in years.
excited to see what comes out. Jpx line always looks fantastic

I think “small” is different from “forgiving”.  for example, the t100’s are really forgiving for their size, but they are too small for me.

that’s why the 223’s work well for me, hovers more around the upper end of the player profile. and they are definitely forgiving for the size and player profile. But if you like the forged, size, go for it.

Anyway, I’m definitely hoping mizuno does something similar with the jpx tour as they did with the 223. I liked the shape and feel of the Jpx tour so much more than the 223, but I would love if the long irons were slightly larger size or if the forged was more easily blendable with it.

This was my sentiment as well, looking down at the gorgeous t100, they looked intimidating. The 223 wasn't as intimidating? Maybe I need more time with them.

T100 is the first iron that looks legit like a blade at address but is just as forgiving as previous generations of ap2's. Titleist nailed it with these irons which is really annoying because I never wanted to play titleist irons ever again after I retired my 680's years ago. I think its super telling that JT put the 4 iron in the bag as soon as it came out. Apparently he was so blown away at the workability and look of the iron that he thought about using the 5 iron too.

I get excited seeing this thread get bumped, but nothing…

The next iron purchase is dependent on the chub from the 923 tours.

I will likely go with T100, ZX7, 223 Tours or the Mizzy 223. I think the 223 is under rated by many. I have always been Mizuno or Srixon for the last several years starting with the 945. Like I said above, really don’t want titleist irons in the bag but the T100 seem to be incredible and exactly what I have been looking for (true blade profile at address with more forgiveness than a simple cb)

I was all in for the 223s until I read 1/2 the set would be chromoly. I don’t like combo sets.

I would say in the 223, there is a close feel but noticeable difference in the “pop” between the 7/8 irons. Feels like the 7 jumped a bit more or had a bit more behind it vs the 8

For anyone that hasn’t tried the irons, I have to argue the exact opposite point. What he’s saying is my exact fear and I did not experience this at all. I gamed these irons earlier this year. It’s an amazing set, its a combo without the downsides of a combo. There is no divisiveness here.

I wasn’t necessarily in love with the feel or top line of any of the irons, but there wasn’t a difference for me in feel or jumpiness between each iron. The performance was on point and stayed true throughout the set.

but you aren’t still gaming them…? I haven’t hit them, but I wouldn’t put them in the same category of ZX7, JPX 921T, or T100, right?

awesome! Glad you had that experience. No one is right or wrong, as feel is subjective.

I noticed a bit of a larger distance gap between the 2 (7 to 8 iron) which is why I didn’t end up going that route, and also as a lower spin player I found the 223 to be surprisingly higher spinning vs even the 221.

I hit 12-14 greens per round so a decent ball striker fwiw, but I suck elsewhere LOL

I hit the 223s and was fit for them.. and don’t get me wrong, they do feel real good. 221s felt incredible but I don’t have the game for those. so I’m hoping to get some middle ground in the JPX tour.

im just saying earlier, not a fan of combination sets to the extent of it splitting at the 7/8 iron. I would have been sold on all carbon or all chromoly. Maybe chromoly in in the 4/5 only.

I found the T100 to be too small and intimidating. 223s suit me just fine, the size is good and the offset (or lack of) suits me in the long irons.

I tend to be a low spin guy and they keep spin up for me.  The 8-P may feel the tiniest bit better in general but on pure strikes it’s hard for me to tell.

I’m excited to see the 923T when they are released but I’m pretty they are too much club for this aging 5 hcp.  I’ll hit them tho.

I had a set of 223's for 3 rounds and moved them along to a friend that wanted them badly. I play the Srixon ZX7 and as far as feel goes I prefer the Srixon - Endo forging. I

thought that the Chromoly felt like I was hitting a Marshmallow compared to the 1025E Forged clubs. with copper underlaying  I'm a big fan of Mizuno so all that said the 223 in my opinion is a huge winner.

Me too!

The 223s do feel nice but there's nothing quite like an Endo forging IMO.

I don't feel that a material helps at all and after 3 rounds felt as if I wished they didn't go this route on the 7-5 Iron in my set.

Im sure the jpx tour would be less forgiving.

I like a larger blade, I play MP5 right now and really enjoy them. Bigger than the 221s, very similar tours other than head profile. I don’t mind giving up forgiveness to play what I really enjoy.

JPX Tour are definitely less forgiving. I’m assuming the poster meant JPX Forged there.

I am currently playing JPX 921Forged.  I was hoping and have been told the 223 are about the same in forgiveness to those.  Was told those 2 irons are kinda a tossup in playability and forgiveness.
