Clean looking (S)GI irons?

Hi,

I am playing Mizzy JPX 919 forged but am looking for more forgiveness and launch in the longer irons. I tend to hit them fat. Guess the Hot Metals are the obvious choice but a least the 919 HM felt dead to me.

Any other recommendations with a clean look (no funky badges etc)? Doesn’t have to be the very latest model.

Thanks

Those look awful IMHO.

Assuming you're not a fan of the back of the club as PXG has best managed to hide size and offset in their irons. I still fiddle A LOT WITH THIS CATEGORY and here are the usual suspects:

0311XF/XP

T300

921HM

G425 most offset thinner topline than Mizuno

G710 biggest of the bunch but black is slimming for sure.

Maltby PTM (Value choice)

I went directly from the 919F to PXG Gen 3 P. They have a very similar profile, but the PXG’s are longer, more forgiving, and have just as good of a feel, if not better, than the 919F.

Not to mention they are only $133 a stick right now, and they’ll be at your door n two weeks.

Not here in Germany unfo. But I am considering the 0211 at just 75 bucks apiece right now!

The Srixon ZX5 are nice and if you are a big digger of the ball that V-Sole could help a lot.

I was going to say ZX4 - that's more the SGI model from Srixon. ZX5 is more game improvement.

As far as looks go for this sort of iron, ZX4 and Ping G710 are the cleanest and best looking imo.

I would add PXG 0211 DC to this list. I have the 921 HM and the DC’s are smaller overall. From address they look very clean and have good feel at impact. Glad I took a flier on them during the November sale and there are still great deals on them.

Considering them right now. Unfo they only offer one steel shaft which is too light for my liking.

First time at the new PXG location and didn't go for the purpose of hitting the XPs but did along with the Ps. My HC suggests the XP however HCs are derived in different fashions and my short game has been inconsistant at best for 40 years but 50 years of nearly daily gym workouts and range time keep my ball striking pretty decent. The XPs (0311 gen 4) were surprisingly more low key then I imagined. Only hit 7 irons but  could easily play the XPs however my aforementioned swing  proved the P a better fit. That all said and just getting Takomo 201s along with my G410 with SteelFiber i95 in June the $2000 wasn't in the cards.

Might add I bought the original 0211 with MMT 80 when they first came out and they lasted my usual 6 month iron longevity however the 2021 0211 are a very nice stick that I could easily put in bag.

1. Clean look. 2. Super game improvement but don’t look like it. 3. Much, much smaller than the SIM2 irons, more like the p790 in size. 4. More control — High launchers that let you get the same distance with a shorter shaft. 5. Much better sound than the SIM or SIM2 irons.

Never mind the “recommended” handicap range. I’m going to test these Stealth irons against the Mizuno Pro 225 and Rogue St Pros. The PXG SGI irons have a longer blade length than I like. I probably lean toward the Mizunos or Callaways, but no reason to not demo the options.

Don't pass on the Mizzy 921 Hot Metal Pro's. They offer less offset, and a thinner top line than the standard HM's and are IMHO, just as forgiving and just as long.

I think the Takomo 101's are clean and crazy good forgiveness. Arrow straight. Also wicked cheap.

For a while it seemed like lots of folks were waiting forever to get their orders.  They may have gotten their act together more recently but their site says RH clubs are back-ordered.  "We are based in Finland. The components are made in Japan, Taiwan and China. We do the assembly in China and ship out the products from out Hong Kong warehouse." according the Takomo rep who chimed in to the thread.
