True story. Went to Myrtle ack in 2008 or 09 in March. Got there a day or two after they had snow for the first time in a decade but was mostly melted when we arrived. Was at one of the Legends courses in a frost delay for morning tee time. It was 1 or 2C at the time and forecast for 15 or so. I didn't go all that way to wear pants in March so I had shorts on. A guy behind me said "You must be crazy to be wearing shorts when its this cold out". I turned around and there was a guy in his 60's with his oxygen tank beside him, tubes in the nostrils, smoking a cigar. I pointed at the tank and then cigar and asked him if I was the really crazy one.

I was in MB in late Apr in both 94 & 95....I really liked it...a ton of fun and got a great golf deal.

Drove down from Toronto with some university friends from the 80's.

 

I think MB is now overlooked as a US golf destination with many more golf resorts & US golf targeted areas in the US opening up.

With tons of snow dump (50cm and rising) plus -20C excluding wind chills the past week (and this coming Wednesday lol), I'll be in tank tops in any of those conditions lol...  (Of course I'll be banned from the course) 

 

These days id rather watch Aaron Rodgers lose on the field in those conditions in green bay... Makes me feel a bit better about the weather  lol.

There's a WRX guy...kinda a pro handicapper....the below is not verbatim.

He said the ideal LPGA height was 5'6"-5'7".

In the last 2 decades...the truly great LPGA pros are this height.

Annika, Webb, Pak, Ochoa, Inbee, Kerr, Stacy, Old Lydia and now maybe JYK can join this group in 10-15 years.

Yes....some could say...it's all numbers...as 5'6"-5'7" is maybe the avg. and majority LPGA height.

 

One would think a taller gal should generate more width and therefore more speed....which they can...therefore their height would be such a distance advantage and make them great because hitting a shorter approach shot is always an advantage......but it didn't necessarily result in great outcomes.

He said that tall women tend to be a bit disconnected and their short game suffered.

Yes....tall players like Jessica, Lexi, Wie, Anna N, Sandra have won...some more than others and some with majors...but none are in the above great players category above in recent decades.

 

Yes, Beth Daniel was a very good pro in her day...but the competition was a great.

 

Let's see over the next 10-15 years....assuming she plays that long .....to see if Nelly can break the mold can become a member of the 5'6"-5'7" Club.
