Which wedge shafts?

Hello everyone, I need some help selecting wedge shafts.

I am using Elevate Tour X Flex shafts in my irons.  I am wondering which shaft would be a good fit to put in my wedges, which will keep all clubs near a constant weight.

I have tried to find elevate tour wedge shafts but have had zero luck.  I was considering the AMT Tour White but they still seem a little on the heavy side.

Any thoughts would be great.

The AMT Tour White X100 7 iron shaft is 124g vs. 122g in the Elevates. Maybe try those and tip them a bit to account for the extra head weight?

Or go straight in with the 127g 8 iron shafts. They probably won’t weigh much more when cut to wedge length.

Stay with the same shafts as your irons. Most people don't swing their wedges fast enough to notice a change. Keep the weight constant and have better consistency.

KBS 610 is similar in weight, but definitely quite a bit different in profile.  Still a great wedge shaft though in my experience.  The Hi Rev should also be close to the same weight.

I have always been an S400 guy in wedges and X100 in irons but I am getting older and need something I don’t have to work as hard. Need less spin for sure.

Weight loss into wedge.

If we use the same shaft, like Dynamic Gold S or X flex, we go "descending wgt" into wedges. Here is how we calculate that.

DG is 130 grams at /37" for the #9, and thats 3.51 grams pr inch
A classic wedge set up, is 0.25" shorter pr club.
3.51 grams / 4 = 0.878 grams, so we can use 0.9 grams

On top of that, we loose even more from butt cut than this, due to the difference in BBGM from irons to wedge. As a guideline we can expect irons to have 1.25" as BBGM in players irons, and wedges to have at least 1 5/8, or 3/8 higher = 3/8 more butt cut.
(3.51 grams /8) x 3 = 1.3 grams from higher BBGM
(some even more depending on BBGM difference from irons to wedge)

Then it will most likely look like this
#9 to PW butt cut 2/8 = 0.9 grams
PW to GW first have 3/8 higher BBGM and 2 x 2/8 for length (1.3 + 2x 0.9) 3.1 grams loss
GW to SW starts with 3.1 grams weight loss and another 0.9 t0 be 2/8" shorter = 4.0 grams
SW to LW starts with 4.0 grams weight loss, and another 0.9 to be 2/8" shorter = 4.9 grams

So, in a set of DG irons and wedges, we loose about 5 grams net cut shaft wgt from 9 to Lob, and even more if BBGM in the wedges is higher than 1 5/8". As you can see here, even S400 is not really UP in weight, the higher start weight is all lost already at the GW.

Thats why weight sorting of wedge shafts is needed if we wants to reduce this loss to a minimum, and if the option of a higher shaft weight exist, like 5 grams up in the actual model, thats whats really needed to get "constant wgt" all the way from irons into wedges.

'

Also be aware of what happens when we soft stepp shafts like using a X100 #8
That shaft is 0.5 longer uncut vs the #9, so we loose (3.51 / 8 )x 4 = 1.75 grams extra due to this.
The lob wedge will now be close to 7 grams net cut shaft weight below the #9
