Tomo golf shoes

Anyone have experience with Tomo shoes? They look worthy of trying out a pair, wondering about fit.

I have a pair of the volume 1. Sizing for me is same as my regular shoes. For me they have no real support so I stopped trying to wear them to play but they super light and comfortable and comparable to all birds. I do like the look of the new alphas they just made too

Great looking shoes. But the lack of support gives me pause. I walk courses whenever I can (which is most of the time).

There is always a tradeoff between weight and support. In general, the lighter the shoe, the less support.

Too heavy a shoe, and you're a bit more tired after a round. Wouldn't seem like a few extra grams would make any difference, but the average round is around 6.5 miles - which, for an average guy's stride, is 15,000 steps. Yeah, weight makes a bit of a difference.

But (at least in my experience) too light a shoe, too little support or support that is too soft, and those 15,000 steps (especially carrying a bag) will have my feet almost aching sore after a round.

Actually, I think it was elite runners - especially marathoners - working in conjunction with shoe companies that first obsessed on optimizing this. The normal person training for a marathon will run 25 - 30 miles a week in the weeks leading up to it. The majority, however, don't even think they are going to win, most are either aiming at a particular time, or (in many cases) just have the goal of finishing under the final deadline. The very best, however, (those that actually win marathons) are completely insane - sometimes 60 or even 70 miles a week, often on hard surfaces - when they're doing serious prep. Even micro-adjustments in support, the type and materials of support, and weight make a massive difference.

IMO, some of the best golf shoes - that are very good at optimizing - come from OEMs that also have running divisions. Nike, Adidas, Puma & etc.

I bought the Vol .1 in white. I mostly ride in a cart and only wore them in the summer. I thought they where great for what I used them for but the only downside is if they get dirty there is no real way to get them remotely clean again.

EAL wears these. They look cool but don't know how they hold up compared to the competitors when it comes to traction, comfortability, and materials. I think for the price you might get a better shoe from Nike, Adidas, FJ and many others.

i have a pair of the vol1s same issues with support as mentioned above - its as i've the knit is too loose and my feet were sliding all over the place. just got a pair of True knit II which im looking forward to trying when its warm enough.
