Just saw a review on these balls. Supposed to be the straightest legal ball.

But I don't see them for sale anywhere.

Anyone know about these balls

Probably most of us had no idea this was even coming out, myself included.  Wilson has been a little quiet.  I'm sure someone here will know something and can enlighten us!

Had no idea who Manolo was. Interesting ball and marketing campaign. Still normal Wilson way of making the launch......weird.

All I know is that I have never seen so much response to a Wilson product on their Instagram. They targeted a younger golfer and I think they may have hit their mark.

It's the replacement for the Duo Professional. The Staff Model ball (good ball btw) replaced the 4-piece FG Tour ball that was in the line from a couple of years ago.

Wilson upped the compression on this new ball. By Wilson's measurements, I believe the Duo Pro's compression was 65. They are saying the Triad is now 85. A real change. In my opinion, the Duo Pro was too soft. This makes the new Triad more in-line compression-wise with the original three-piece FG Tour ball that came out in 2009/2010. That was a great ball and much beloved around here.

The "MOI" marketing jazz on the Triad does zero for me... However, if the Triad plays and feels like that old FG Tour, then it is a winner in my book.

Duo Professional does "seem" to be permanently discounted on the Wilson site but they only have the non-white balls last I saw.  I would think that they would keep something in the matte urethane world but you never know.

I think it is best for Wilson to leave the colored matte balls in the DUO Soft line moving forward.

The marketing for the Triad is definitely a different direction for a Wilson ball. For years, it was nothing but soft, soft, soft.

As a user of the Duo Pro yellow I hope they at least keep that option going forward. My aging eyes find it much easier to follow and find yellow vs white.

I kind of like the whole marketing plan.. They understand that golf had a ton of new younger golfers. They are trying to reach them in different ways.

We will see. On the whole, I feel W/S marketing and branding is all over the map, and has been for awhile. This honestly seems like another example.

Is W/S really trying to change their brand identity to capture this golfer? Because it's going to take a lot more than just one marketing campaign for a golf ball to do so. Perhaps, they have more coming, but I see nothing else about the brand that really indicates this. For example, take a look at their brand ambassadors/tour staff. Nice guys sure, but this might be the blandest group out on tour and that says something.

My feeling is that two years for now we will look at back at this release and laugh... Remember when W/S launched the Triad trying to get the 20 something White Claw golfer to buy the ball using an obnoxious Instagram influencer.

You could be right. I am way outside the age group they are trying to reach. I played the brand when it mattered the last time. I think the new ownership group is starting whatever it's doing with this launch. We will see it it works. I hope so. The industry needs to have brands that dont die.

Technically no. Amer Sports was purchased by Anta Sports in 2019. Anta Sports is a Chinese company. However, Amer Sports still exists. So, Wilson is a subsidiary of Amer Sports, which is a subsidiary of Anta Sports.

Wilson was the King for a long while. Greed and bad decisions and lack of leadership has almost sent it to the deep six! I wouldn't be counting them out ,just the opposite better times are coming  and coming fast !!!! Youth is a big part of the plan and they have plenty of it along with new exciting equipment and ownership with determination and MONEY!!!

The influencer guy is a strange choice, but they did need to find a way to reach a younger crowd. Other than a few blips on the radar like Woodland's major, they've been fading into obscurity compared to the big OEMs.

If they were going to chase an influencer, they should have went after one of the TXG guys. Even though Club Champ bought the TXG brand, if Wilson signed Ian or Matt and had them subtlety shill their stuff as equal or better than the big boys, that would have moved the needle.

Another thing I find strange is the continued push of the old school Wilson logo/brand. The red & black W/S shield was much cleaner & modern look.

Yeah no kidding. Disappointed to see it go, it's just another blur between Wilson and Wilson Staff to confuse everyone.

lol Wilson has been irrelevant for years. Pretty much anything they do at this point is better than whatever they have been doing. They make great stuff and sell none of it. I have no problem with this plan (if they actually stick with it... remember when they had rick shiels do like 1 promo for the duo?).

I'm guessing there is some sort of metric that shows that Manolos IG following is more valuable than TXGs youtube following. andnd maybe that the TXG crowd isnt really winnable compared to whatever we want to call the IG crowd.

For reference I don't follow that dude but his content does entertain me. I also noticed he is doing some hype stuff on tour now. Guy is only going up
