Anyone transition from g410 hybrid to g425?

I’ve played the g410 2h as a fairway wood replacement for 2 years now and looking to change it up as it’s getting pretty worn. That being said, it would be easy to just swap the head into 425 but I haven’t been able to find a lot of information on it with regards to user experience.

anybody here play previously play the g410 and moved to the g425? If so, what were your findings regarding any differences?

425 launched higher but didn't seem to increase spin. 425 also wanted to draw, not hook - just a natural draw. Pretty consistent in the yardage carry as well. I stuck with the 410 as the differences weren't enough to merit a change.

To each their own though - you a turbohater or do they not bother you? That's the actual question IMO

I did.  I played the 410 for two seasons.  Then I changed to 425 for loft/gapping reasons. But used the exact same shaft ( addi).    Both are great heads.    If I had to pick id slightly lean to the 410.  I prefer it from address for some reason.  Just lined up perfect and the face looked right etc.  but both are similar in practice.     And I’ll add this. The g400 is absolutely a great value now.  It’s on par in performance except it’s a glued head.  If that doesn’t matter to you , same same.  It’s basically a glued g410.    I used the flattest setting on the 410 is only reason I care that it’s adjustable.  It’s a win win win scenario really.

G410 launches pretty low for sure. I play it in the -1* flat setting. Any draw bias of the 425 may be a no-go.

If I had the resources to bend and adjust a glued hybrid i would of gone with the UW. If was about 3* flatter it would have been good. I play my g410 at -1* flat and 16*. It does set up great. I prefer the 3 dot alignment vs the turbolators though. If the heads are very similar in over performance then it’s probably a safe bet to go to g425. The more draw bias animalgolf mentioned is somewhat concerning though.

Would you say the overall head shape is the same? From the pictures it may look as though the g425 has a little more front to back length on the toe side as compared to the g410?

I want to clarify the draw  - my take is strictly 5h . I just liked the way the 410 sits [it fits my eye i guess]. I played the 3h G400 previously & that club had a fade bias, for my swing.

I use the flat ○ setting in the 410 with some toe'ish lead tape.

Theyre really similar in size in my opinion. It could be more on the front to back toe side. But it’s not something I had noticed.     Animal is right. The g425 did want to come left a bit. Didn’t bother me at first as I’m never a hooker. But it’s enough that I don’t own it anymore , sometimes I like to hit a hard low fade off the tee. And I do recall it wanting to straighten that out (  ie double cross slightly).    I shortly thereafter scored a tour issue sim max head almost by accident , that had been bent flat and had the hotmelt in the toe.   If you’ve  hit that  head in retail you know it’s a hook monster.  It was The lie angle.    Check out broken niblick on eBay , he has several tour heads with specs for sale.  Should be a nice flat one there.

I didn't switch because the 425 seemed too big

I use it as a fairway replacement, not as an iron replacement, so I prefer the larger hybrid.

The head of my G410 4H flew off the day before a tournament. It was going to take 48 hours to fix it. My hybrid is my security blanket club, it would bother me not having it in the bag. I used it as an excuse to treat myself to a G425.  I bought the G410 at launch and it has seen a whole lot of rounds and practice sessions..it looked pretty worn.

I just didn't like the G425. My G410 was point and shoot. I had a few good shots with the G425, but a more hooks than the G410 and it didn't feel as forgiving.

I went ahead and got my G410 repaired and got rid of the G425.  IMO, hybrids are like fairway woods and putters. If you find one you love, don't switch unless you're absolutely sure you love the new one a lot more.

True.  I didn’t consider that.    I will say this. They are hot as hades.  You’d hit the 19 lower than the ping 17 , I’m  sure of it ….but I get it.

the tsi2 looks great to me too. But I haven’t hit one yet.

It's pretty common to see the G410 preferred here. I had both (3 hybrids) at the same time and stayed with the G425. Let me say this tho - for whatever reason i found the G425 more finicky when it came to shafts and perhaps that is the reason some let them go. The 410 was fine with the stock Tour and Evenflow, the 425 Rogue and pretty much anything else i threw at it. I used the G425 with a tour Green 85 for a bit then a Velocore and lastly nabbed an Atmos Tour Blue which has absolutely hit the spot and i am loving it. Prior to that it was quite good but not as good as now.

It feels hotter and thinner than the 410. I found the 410 had a heavy feel off the face for want of a better description but it was fine. Personally i slightly prefer the feel of the 425 tho plenty might not.

Both are great clubs.

I had/have both. Same shaft. I feel like the difference is the head shape. The 410 seemed shallower and the crown seemed flatter. The 425 seems a bit more bulbous with a rounded crown, so it seems bigger. Other than that, they are both super easy to hit. I really liked the feel of the 410, very satisfying metallic. The 425 feels maybe a little more hollow pitched as if the face feels a bit thinner if that makes sense. No real difference in performance, maybe I feel like the "spinsistency" on the 425 is a real thing. I hit all kinds of crappy shots at the range that seem to end up carrying to the exact same spot.

Well I had the chance to take a g425 and tsi2 hybrid out in the course yesterday. Preferred the titleist over the g425. My g410 has some melt in it so I’m not sure how it sounds usually but the g425 was very “tingy” to me. Didn’t like it at all

I did not. Both are kind of more hollow or tingy sounding than I would prefer, but the performance is so good I can live with it. Thinking about maybe adding some hot melt to improve sound but don’t want to affect performance.

Well the melt in mine must be making quite a bit of difference in the sound then. Good to know melt should make a big difference in the 425’s sound.

Adding a few grams won’t affect the performance at all. Unless the slightly heavier swingweight causes you to swing differently.

My local proshop loaned me a G425 hybrid for a day, and I played it alongside my G410.  I actually hit my G410 better, but that's probably because I am used to it.  It's what I use for my second shot on par 5's, and is easy to draw with lots of distance.

Took the G425 back to the shop, and they sold it within a week.  The Ping rack has been pretty much empty for the past 6 months here!
