Tensei Pro Orange 1K Release Date?

Dang, that is a heavy shaft. Basically everything from the 50x and up is pushing into the next weight category. I assume that weight is coming from the counterbalance that has traditionally been part of the "Orange" lineup.

This is the one I’ve been waiting for. CK was great AV was better in the driver for me. 1K white was really good too but couldn’t edge out AV for me. Counterbalanced is my thing.

If there could be a smoother yet slightly tighter CK Pro, that would have my attention. Love the absolute SNOT out of the AV Raw Blue 65TX, but unless I gain 5mph on a regular basis it's too much shaft.

I've been hearing that the release date is sometime early March.  I've had the Rogue Silver 125 MSI as my gamer for 5 years and I believe it was counterbalanced although not as much as the CPO.  I did get to test the CPO a long time ago and I don't remember much but the numbers seemed ok.  I may just give the 1k version a go.

Is it probable that Mitsubishi follows the Tensei Orange 1K with a Blue 1K (assuming that the 1K series will be the latest Tensei line)?

The labeling is kind of a generalization. Look at Nippon Modus Tour 120S... it's 114g lol. 

 

I'm interested in this Tensei Orange 1K 60S and that's 69g listed, but I believe manufacturer's listing is an uncut shaft. You'd expect to lose some grams as your club gets built.

Yes, certainly true - but our interpretation of the weight of a shaft has always been with the uncut weight. Regardless, this is pretty heavy compared to the typical 60-class shaft.

 For sure it's still on the heavier side. I think (I could be wrong) that this shaft in 60S would be very close in weight (not flex obviously) to a conventional 60 X-flex driver shaft, so definitely on the denser side. 

 

Seems like the 1K material/approach + counter balanced is doing something to the weight... idk lol

That would be interesting if it was - my AV Raw Blue 65TX was 69g I think, so definitely a little heavier. That's what it seem like to me too. I know counterbalancing makes it feel lighter than it actually is, so that could have been part of the thought - my Aldila X-Torsion Copper at 70g definitely felt a little lighter than that.

Just got word that the Pro Orange 1k will be released towards the end of March.  Already asked my guy @JustinDto save me one.  Can't wait!!!

No rhyme or reason on why the shaft manufactures do this, one thing to note on this shaft though since the butt end has the tungsten infused prepreg in the butt when you butt trim to final length you will cut off more weight than a normal non counterblanced shaft so that will make it a little lighter as well.

FTUO - do you think the tungsten usage in the butt-end is what is bringing this to a heavier weight rather than the typical graphite-only application? Either way, I would love to try it. I've enjoyed counterbalanced shafts in the driver before.

I had the PD 70TX last year.  It's beefy and while it was nice and stable, I had to really go after it to get the most out of it.  I'm gonna get the same specs as you.  Should be awesome!
