I wanted to do a full fitting for new irons but between covid, shortages, lockdowns etc I just couldn't. So I bought the ZX5 irons sight unseen just based on all the great reviews.

I have not been disappointed.

I got fit for the ZX5. 4-6 iron I hit fine. I don’t know why but 7-PW is erratic. I have a set of MP-20 MBs and besides the weaker lofts (less distance per club) I hit these so much more pure and better dispersion in the scoring irons. I just ordered the ZX7 7-PW as I think maybe the narrower sole might help? So I guess we’ll see if I purchased just knowing it’s right.

I hate that I only had the 6 iron to hit at my fitting. I feel like if this experiment works out that way of fitting I will never do again.

Not that I need them but I'd love to get the ZX7 in 7-PW.  That would be an even bigger leap of faith as I have the ZX5 in the stock Modus 105 regular flex but I think that the stock shaft in the ZX7 is the Modus 120 usually in stiff flex.

I bought a Bettinardi Signature Series 5 putter probably like 8- 9 years ago just based on how it looked.  I Had a bit of extra cash lying around and wanted to splurge into something nice. I think it was like $500 shipped to me in Canada after duties exchange it was probably more like $800 lol

I haven’t used another putter since and it’s the strongest part of my game..I  have just made so many putts. I won’t ever change it. I  finally changed the grip last season.

Maybe I just forced myself to make it work.

I was fit for a Titleist driver, and the fitting was great. When I took it to the course, I hit it as straight as an arrow, but head high. I played it for a couple rounds, and traded it for a Ping G400 Max, without ever hitting it. My previous two drivers were Ping, so I had a lot of confidence in Ping. It is in my bag, and not going anywhere soon.

I got a Swag Savage Too-C sight unseen, and test unseen, and I had not really even been able to test a similarly sized center-shafted putter. Got it based on hype/being told that a center shaft would help a left eye dominant right-hander (and having a few center shafted blades seem to work ok)

haven’t been disappointed

Yep, ditto.  I generally know what brands/types work for me and my specs.  Generally so far so good.  A couple of misses through with TM and Callaway drivers, which I won't repeat.  That is really about it.  Have done quite a few putters, but those to me aren't really a miss of significance.  I suppose I like putters, but I should be done on that front for a while too.

If it is at a store and left handed, i will put my hands on it at least.  But I generally know when I grab something whether it will work or not.

Everytime.  Indoor fittings on mats are a joke. Buy and fit myself.  You can always sell off the extras.  That being said. I have a good eye.  Don’t recall the last thing I bought that was just nowhere near useable.

Hit and miss for me. I’ve bought some things in the past that I either demo’d or just was bored in the winter while watching too many YouTube videos and reading too many threads, articles, reviews, etc. I find my highest miss rate was with driver shafts and putters. On the flip side though, I’ve had fittings that didn’t turn out so well in my purchases. In the last year though, I’ve had a good success rate based on me just knowing my game and the knowledge I have with equipment and fittings. I would say 80% of my current setup, I fit myself and was correct.

Fit myself for TSi3 driver/shaft set up and have had my best driving season. Purchased SC Phantom X 5.5 without trying, and have never putt so well in my life. Bought my SM8 wedge set ups without trying and only used Vokey online fitting tool as well as lots of research into the grinds and bounces, been super happy with them. Was fit with TSi2 3w and 5w and shaft setup by a fitter and have no complaints. However, current irons (T100S) I demod quite a bit, I’m still on the fence on these but know it’s the wrong shafts (in progress of replacing them). Ordered 225s after several sessions with random fitters. 6 out 7 fitters came to the same setup with head and shaft combo (Modus 115 S) the other fitter with Nippon Neo 98 S. I went with Modus setup.

I wanted something to scratch my itch for new driver season, but just not really blown away with anything in 2022 lineup, so I just purchased online last night without trying Radspeed Palm Tree Crew 9 degree driver. Not that I need it but was on sale brand new. Paint, cosmetics, and head cover looks awesome. Paid $449 and comes with Fujikura Evo VII shaft (which is a $350-$400) shaft itself. If it doesn’t kick my gamer out, at least it’ll be attractive to someone on BST 😉

Every time with irons, and for the most part with wedges.  I know what shaft balance, length, lie, and weight fits me.  I pretty much re-build everything I buy because I play weird length irons.

I know I can play Srixon irons very easily.  I know what Cleveland wedges fit me bounce wise, I also know what Callaway's fit me, and I know I don't like Vokey's.

With Woods and hybrids it is a bit more difficult.  I know I prefer and ultra stiff handle in the driver and pretty stiff in fairway woods.  I also hit the ball pretty high, and to get something I like it normally takes a tip "flexible" design, and I pretty much tip it all the way down for driver, with FW woods, I don't need to tip as much as launching off the deck I tend to hit the ball a little lower.

Hybrids I still have not found a shaft I love.  The MMT in my Cobra is OK, I live the head though, but may need to go super stiff handle in it, or something more like my irons I am not 100% sure.
