Looks nice 🙂

So, I have had both that 983 driver, the Vsteel fw, a very similar becu Hogan 52 wedge and of course the Anser 2.

All, but the driver, served me well and in fact I gave my dad the Hogan wedge "well used" and still uses it.

I can't get over how SOLID the 983 and the V Steel feel.  I'm pretty sure the shafts are heavier than the ones I typically use, but they feel really stable and launch the ball very well.

I know the Anser has quite the reputation, but I actually prefer the PAL 2 over it.  It's certainly nice to change things up every now and again though.

Love it especially the V-Steel--- Goes to show it does not have to be the latest and greatest and most expensive to be playable and to enjoy the game---- Even though I am a dyed in the wool Macgregor man I would play your set up and have fun doing so

I owned a V-Steel 4 wood and it was the best FW club I ever owned.  Unfortunately someone liked it more than I did and lifted it from my bag at a local tournament.

New member here. I decided to post my backup/travel setup first, as my regular gaming bag is in flux during the winter months and lacks the sentimental value of my travel setup.  I have a Ping range/pencil bag that I will often carry D, 3i, 5i, 7i, 9i, SW, P that is primed and ready for pretty much any trip/flight I take, and an amazing wife that will let me steal away for 9 holes while we're supposed to be on vacation or visiting family.  Anyway, here's the full bag:

Driver:  Titleist 983K 9.5* w/ stock Fujikura Speeder shaft (stiff flex)

3W: Taylormade V-Steel 15* w/ stock MAS 2 FW shaft (stiff flex)

2i-PW:  Ben Hogan Radials (no underline) w/ Apex 3 shafts (regular flex)

SW:  Ben Hogan BeCu Special 55* w/ Apex shaft (wedge flex)

LW:  Ben Hogan BeCu Lob 60* w/ Apex shaft (wedge flex)

Driver/Fairway Grips:  Golf Pride MCC Plus4, standard, red/black

Iron/Wedge Grips:  Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360, standard, black
Putter:  Ping BeCu Anser 2 w/ "Ping Man" pistol grip, standard, black

Still looking for the right ball to play with this setup.  The irons are weak lofted and high launching, so I've tried the Q Star Tour to try to get a bit more distance out of them.  Would happily take any suggestions.

All clubs have been regripped and I attempted to paint fill the irons, although I may go back and have a second go at some of the numbers.  Other than that, all clubs are in original condition.  The idea here was that I wanted to put together a bag that was fun to play and full of timeless classics, even if it was a bit wily at times, and boy, do I have fun playing this bag (I don't shoot much worse than normal, to be honest).  Definitely more proud of it than my actual gaming setup, which is made up of more forgiving, game improvement type clubs.  Total cost:  $422.83 (the copper wedges really inflated the price of what could've otherwise been a pretty cheap setup).

Pics Below, apologies if they're a bit dark.  It's my first time.  Thanks for looking!

They look like timeless classics to me.  I try to make my bag with them too as indicated in my signature.

April 2022 Update:

The V-Steel 3 wood has been KICKED from the bag (honestly, it may end up back in my regular bag), and is being replaced by a Radial 1 iron (Apex 4 Shaft).

IMG_0718.jpg.2f6f605cb741a44f8ea703546fa7b9b9.jpgIMG_0719.jpg.ebedde510831778dbed75a4222d43c41.jpgIMG_0717.jpg.abc8651aba54d7f83eec2cc3f46815fb.jpg

It's relatively easy to launch for a 1 iron, but it's still a 1 iron.  Took first swings out on the course and used it exclusively as a driving iron off the tee.  Best shot of the day plugged in the (soggy) fairway after a 230 yard carry, but I missed 2 other fairways to the right and 1 to the left.  Still, it's a welcomed addition to the classics bag and maybe the next step is to find an old laminated Radial driver to complete the set.
