Hawaii trip

I’ve got a good amount of money saved up specifically for a golf focused Hawaii trip for me and the wife.

Been to Maui before but never played anything but the resort there I think Kapalua maybe?

Looking for ideas, maybe even multiple islands? Don’t know. Would really value some input into what you guys would think would be the dream bucket list trip to Hawaii.

The best course that I've played on any of the Hawaiian Islands is Manele Golf Course on Lanai. It's a fantastic course always in amazing condition and it's like having a golf course to yourself. I think the rates are between $350 - $425 and it's worth every penny. The only issue is that you have to stay on Lanai at The Four Seasons or Sensei Lanai A Four Seasons Resort to play the course. The Four Seasons isn't cheap as I believe the cheapest room is ~$1,900 per night for a garden view with several complimentary amenities including the spa, shuttle service, etc.. You can either take a plane from Honolulu which I believe is included in the hotel stay or the ferry from Lahaina to Lanai. There's also a 9 hole golf course called Cavendish which is free to play!

If you go to Kauai don’t discount Wailua just because it’s a muni. I was in Kauai in 2018. My brother in law and I were driving to play at a different course when we got a phone call canceling our tee time because of some accident on the course. We called around and this was the only place we could get on. They got us out as soon as we got there. Ocean front holes, great Mountain View’s, challenging and above average course conditions. I saw recently it was voted one of the top 30 munis in the U.S. Several other great options on Kauai but when I’m there in a couple of weeks I’ll fit this one in just because of what they did for me before.

If it is bucket list, might as well do Maui. Play both Kapalua courses (or Kap 2x), then try getting on King K; and also go play the Emerald course at Wailea.

There is one called Maui Nui when we there we got a $40 dollar golf now rate. It’s wasn’t a whole lot more. Their is also one up in the mountains a little bit called Pukalani. At the time they had a very low rate on Thursdays. Even at full price I think it was $60. If you need to rent clubs check out the Maui Golf shop. We paid $35 and you pick your clubs. I was basically able to recreate my bag at home. They can also get you deals at some of the courses.
