On Golf Central yesterday....they reminded us that Amy Alcott and Hollis Stacy were never SC captains.....they did not elaborate why not.

Nope....I like older women.

My wife is quite a few years older than I.

Women like Jenn Anniston, Kelly Hu, Ming Na Wen, etc all in their 50's are SMOKESHOWS.

Attractive women...IMO....many get better looking with age.

Looked forward all week to a thread full of some zesty KBong posts after hearing that Stacy was named captain.  

 

Not disappointed.  😆

 

Also in the category of Stacy fan, though she isn't necessarily one of my favorites.  She overcame a ton to reach the top.  No, she's not perfect in all her interactions with the fans, the media (or, apparently, her husband) but honestly our standards and expectations of public figures like Stacy are just ridiculous.  

 

I think she'll be a good captain, but whether she's great will depend on her choices of assistants and captain's picks.

I believe Stacy will be team captain in 2025, especially if the US wins.

 

I'll guess that Wie will be captain in 2027.

The Pink Diva will have to be an asst, team captain in the future....and if completed, she will eventually be a team captain one day.

Obviously, family obligations will affect the above 2 when they will captain.

 

After 2023, the Solheim Cup will be played again in 2024, to get back onto a schedule where it's played when the Ryder Cup isn't. 

Golf Channel reported today that the '24 Cup will be at RTJ in Virginia.

I can definitely see Stacy being captain again in 2024 with it being a short turn around.  I also think Morgan will be captain soon unless she does have a larger role on tv broadcasts.

Good point....ya I can see both Stacy & Suzann as repeat captains...especially the one that wins.

BUT

I still think they have to have one ready to step in for 2024.

I believe someone would be approached in 2023...no later than the spring....likely assistant captains....and then accepted with the condition of being silent until the 2023 SC has been completed.

 

Yes, Morgan can have her day as SC captain.

But it kinda seems inevitable that she'll eventually replace Judy FT.

Morgan seems to have kicked Stupples out of the booth and when Morgan is not working that week in the booth.....Stupples would be ready to do booth work...as she already has that experience.

There, I've stated it and I feel fine.

 

Intense, crotchety at times (sometimes amusingly so, at least to me) but with her teenage scoliosis issues, I think she just really wants success and can't understand others that muck around, although different personalities deal with situations in different ways. This to me will be one of her big tests as captain, dealing effectively with the different personalities, I guess using her assistants effectively for this could be important.

 

The donation of her winners check to Hurricane Harvey relief shows her quality as a person IMO

 

After the last two losses, it needs a shake-up, and she will give it that.

 

My advice for her - modify/jettison the pod system, too limiting IMO.

I wholeheartedly agree with you.  Stacy is respected & admired by her peers I believe.  I've always been a fan!  She is a no nonsense player and is an honest & honorable woman.

And KPMG are very careful with their sponsorship choices so anyone who gets their support is expected to be an upstanding person and Stacy fits the bill for that.
