Love the five hours of coverage, but the hours are tough for us old geezers with early bed times.

This is a fantastic introduction article:

2022 HSBC Women’s World Championships

"Teeing off at Sentosa Golf Club from 3rd to 6th March, the 2022 edition of ‘Asia’s Major’ is set to feature nine of the top 10 ranked players in the world, competing in a field comprising both familiar names and prodigious young talent."

I'm counting on our young gun friend @Supermiloto retell the story all night long.

I's a bit worried since Bianca isn't in the field; but Hinako, Yuka, Ayaka and Atthaya should be enough incentive for our 'Canadian Master'.  By the way, Supermilo was granted the Master title ever since Hideki won it last year.

I guess for me, the coverage means "nothing" since it allows me to reminisce about my good ol youthful days in SG... plus personally I like Alison Whitaker as commentator (not necessarily Dom, though LOL)

And yes, since the JLPGAers are there, clearly I am in the mood for watching this!  If I managed to watch 4 rounds of the Olympics for both men and women, plus ZOZO, this should be "a no brainer"... What's strange was that last year, the Honda Open I ended up sleeping on the 17th to the last hole, just as Atthaya was bungling her chances...

Addendum: I like following JYK, Black Belter SYK, Minjee,  Su Oh, and of course Jeen... (so hopefully the coverage will pan in and out these players to keep me awake haha).  Now that I think about it, this is actually "easy" compared to Tokyo (Olympics and ZOZO)... it's only 13 hours ahead, i remember waiting through rain delay in Olympics and of course, watching ZOZO along with chatting with friends from there on the internet as things were unraveling (Hideki vs Tringale)...

LMAO

And I thought you only drooled/fawned over young LPGA gals.

@Supermilo reach out to Smiley Mike....maybe he knows an exec at the CBSA or Pink Shirt Trudeau to set up a restraining order.

The HSBC WWC is being played at the Tanjong Course at Sentosa GC (as distinct from the Serapong course, also at Sentosa GC, which recently hosted the Asian Tour's SMBC Singapore Open).

For those interested... Links below = some course vlogs.

A few of these I won't watch due to mask wearing whilst teeing off - ridiculous. Just my personal peeve from living through Melbourne's covid golf restrictions of 1.5 years (courses closed for most of that time and when opened mask wearing compulsory on the course).

I'll get over this irrational phobia in maybe 20 years.

On a positive note, Singapore is a terrific place to spend time in and you can expect them to run a tight, effective event.

There are a TON of Asian women who wear face masks playing golf here...even in the winter too.

I started to travel extensively to Asia from the late '80's and the whole mask wearing started to burgeon around the turn of the century what with air pollution and then a little later, SARS.

Beijing and Shanghai seemed to have maybe half the population wearing masks even back then, it was so weird coming from Oz, quite confronting.

Who was the Korean player who won in was it Texas just as covid was taking off who played in a full face mask, was it Hyo Joo? Not quite sure. I disliked seeing that but whatever, Hyo Joo is still my favourite Korean player - wonderful swing (like so many Koreans) and seems really lovely.

Pre-Covid....I saw an Asian lady wearing the below mask while driving her SUV and wearing white gloves here.🤣

The Asian ladies wear face masks and large brimmed hats to shield their face from the sun.

Decades ago....I thought the pale face of Asian women was not an attractive look....now that I'm older and see some of the 50-60 something Asian women while golfing or shopping....I can understand why....no sun spots, wrinkles and near perfect skin on

A Korean lady I used to golf with until she moved back to Korea...she hated the smog/pollution coming from China to S. Korea and when we car pooled...she'd hold her breath while travelling through a tunnel.

I was in Beijing and Shanghai area for 2 weeks in Oct 2011....no pollution and sunny nearly everyday...I know this can sometimes be uncommon.

Yes, it was Hyo Joo...she was wearing it because of a skin condition

BUT

Sometimes she covers up and sometimes she doesn't

The reason there's a three weeks break before HSBC is because both Women's Australian Open and LPGA version of Vic Open have been cancelled for the second year in a row.

Two national golf Opens cancelled

Golf Australia plans to hold 2023 Women's Australian Open, but it's unclear whether it'll still be part of the LPGA schedule.

There're three JTBC sponsored events this year before and after the Chevron Championship, it looks like they’re temporary place holders.  My sense is there'll only be one JTBC event in 2023 with a bigger purse once the Chevron moves to Houston.

It's unclear when 2023 Chevron Championship will be held, but my gut feeling is it won't compete head on with ANWA.  I wouldn't be surprised the early part of 2023 schedule will be very different than 2022 after the Florida Swing.

Korea continues to bail out the LPGA...6 LPGA events in 2022 with Korean sponsors.

Mollie needs to crawl out from under her rock, do some work and  quit sitting around listening .....find some sponsors to replace JTBC if they decided in 2023 that they only want to sponsor 1 LPGA event.

The match up I'm the most interested is Lydia Ko vs. Jin Young Ko.   Lydia was third in 2021 Rolex points won, not too far behind Jin Young.  It's early, but the indication is that Lydia has raised her level another notch.  It'll be spectacular if they play in the same group.

Also, the continuous battles between Patty and Atthaya for supreme leader of Thailand.

I know both Ariya and Moriya have been the face of Thailand's golf for at least 6-10 years, but time moves on.  We don't need to go farther than the Rolex Ranking:

#13                     Patty Tavatanakit

#18                     Atthaya Thitikul

#29                    Ariya Jutuanugarn

#37                    Moriya Jutuanugarn

Furthermore, both Patty and Atthaya are many years younger than the Jutuanugarn sisters.

Don't be "fooled" by Patty and Ariya . . . they are only four years apart.   It's just that same teenaged phenomenon with Ariya.  She turned professional at 15 years of age and played on the LET prior to joining the LPGA in 2015.

Of course Atthaya is the young one in all of this . . . so everyone else is "old" compared to her.

@Supermilo Are you getting into @KBong's game of assigning nicknames to LPGA players?

e.g. Never heard her described as "Porny" before! (😬🚫🤬)
