This is not the case. There are technical changes including the use of the new speed foam.

The ball speed is faster off the new irons. Whether you think that is a good thing or a bad thing is up for debate. Personally, I am not convinced that more ball speed is desirable since they are already tough to combo with the P7MC.

thanks - of course there are

A touch softer with less click would be the Biggest benefit of the new foam I hope

excited to see

I am always in for softer, but the 770's aren't bad to me if you are playing a decent ball.

Great comment

I also think there is a lot of room for TM to soften them up And keep or enhance performance

High confidence in them they can swing both objectives

fingers crossed, anyway

I’d definitely like softer. I like the performance, but I’d almost be willing to go to the MC just for better feel. I don’t want my 9 iron feeling like it jumps off the face.

I saw them a couple weeks ago. 770s have a slightly thinner top line and the aesthetics of the back look like the current p-790s. The p7mc has slightly less offset than the current model and a slightly thinned top line to blend into the mb’s. The MB’s are slightly thinner as well and they reworked the weighting in the back of the head a bit. They look phenomenal in my opinion.

I can attest that this is accurate - 770’s have amazing potential.  Slightly thinner top line, advertising less offset in the longer irons, new speed foam, and progressive CG placements from long to short irons.  Aesthetics are like the new 790…where the back mass used to curve upward in the previous version, the empty space is now filled in with a chrome section to make it a full line across the back.  People will be excited when they see them.

Will there be a new wedge release too?

Hopefully not, don’t want it to become difficult to get MG3s 😅

Need some pics info before I go and look for another set of p750s.
if they could only return to the OG 750/770 combo. Forgiveness in size where needed in the longer irons and the 750s surprisingly easy to hit. I didn’t get along with p7mc just didn’t feel as solid as the p750.
p770 feel no were near the forged feel of 750. Some folks were also critical of the transition from solid to speed foam irons in the p760 set resulting in inconsistencies in distance similar to what can be seen with the p7mc/new p770 combo. Yes if you can tweak loft in a gapping session with the p770 it can blend better but most don’t have access to that.
would not want a thinner p7mc that would be too unforgiving for players.
If you look at some other DTC companies providing what we want with CB/MB blends that are true loft for loft making blending easier. Haywood, takomo come to mind. I would prefer Taylormade to do that as resale value on experiments with DTC are not good as a wrxer tinkerer hard to justify.

I believe that in Rick Shiels new Course Vlog #2 video, which was posted today, he was testing some of Taylormade's new irons and driver... he couldn't show images but it's good to know that something is out there now

if you really want the true successor to the p750, just buy a set of Apex TCBs

There is a thread on a TM fan Facebook group, where some say they saw and hit the new releases. The surprising thing they said, a new P790 (which they didn't like). Someone had pictures but it got taken down.  The new P790 isn't too farfetched I guess, it'll be a year and a half. Feb release date.

Really want to see a few line refresh from P7MC to P760 (revive) to P770 (softer) and might as well through in a refresh of the P790

give us A complete set to blend for different needs and caps

Does anyone know what the stock shaft will be on the new release? With KBS Tour being the current stock choice of shaft for Taylormade, will they go away from this with the issues KBS have had in the recent year? I’ve seen posts of people waiting 9-12months for KBS shafts! Wonder whether they’ll go down the Modus route, which IMO are better shafts for the wider consumer.

I would love a P760 rebirth. Said it so many times it’s such an underrated iron. I stumbled upon them when borrowing an ex pro’s backup set, so easy to hit in a compact size. Love the pre worn leading edge too as a divot taker, gets in and out of the ground easily. I’ve just bought another immaculate used set but would very much be in the market for a rebirth!

Look I love the p760 as much as the next guy, but I'd hardly call it compact. The size is my one knock against it, and if they were to refresh it I'd love to see a smaller head

+1. Little less offset in long irons and keep preworn leading edge. I’m in

What is the benefit of a pre-worm leading edge? So few irons come with it so I’m wondering what the downside is. I know a prior AP2 and the P760 had it

It helps with turf interaction. If you’re a bit steep/bit of a digger then the worn leading edge of the P760 or ZX7 help get the club in and out of the ground easier. If you’re a sweeper and don’t take much of a divot then I can imagine it wouldn’t interact with the turf the same.
